Healthcare w/o the coverage
Healthcare and Health insurance are not the same thing.
Both are equally important. Having insurance doesnt garuntee you'll have a care team that actually diagnoses & heals you, within the insurance network. Nor is it wise to leave a YES for a "maybe the other Dr s will work."
You don't play games with your life.
Having a degree doesnt mean they know what they're doing. Over the last 10yrs, I've been in many offices where i knew more than the " professional." In 2019, the African Diaspora still deals w/ drs whom believe that "Black pple dont experience pain" thus improperly diagnosing and under-treating us.
I have finally found a #CareTeam that actually cares. I'm getting well worth them, individually and collectively. It took me from March to May to do it.
They are small practices or specific healers that dont take insurance. My nu primary care dr doesn't take medicaid. Neither does the neurologist. The "health care" team i had before wasn't working. Thus, everything is CASH 💲on a bi weekly basis. (...see MY STORY tab for details on my regimen).
Yes, i am asking for help.
Thats alot for a Black Woman in America. The judgement, due too the stereotype of the "strong Black woman", is from the false perception it birthed that we dont need help, dont want help, and if we do theres something wrong w/ us.
While i wont play a victim, i know in order to get back to my best, i need my #CommunityCare
The prayers, the well wishes, the hugs, encouragement, the freedom to cleanse through 😢, the resources, and referrals are equally needed as the funds for care. A 🚗 ride can do alot when ur body and brain is in recovery.
Its been suggested by my care-team to take 6mo - year "minding my mind" 😌
Every little bit helps.
If you can Donate funds, all is appreciated.
In-Kind donations (aka U wanna buy the home healing supplies to ensure ur money was spent properly)...Vitamins & supplements & herbs go quickly.
Pls support my recovery services so I can return to #Art #Activism #Writing & #SpokenWord
