The Fabulous Baron Munchausen (Karel Zeman, 1962).
Actually you know what, what if the concussion incident with Ouma WAS Munchausen? What then? What if he deliberately stepped on that floorboard and beaned himself in the head on purpose? What if he DID exaggerate the severity on purpose by flopping on the floor to scare Saihara?
He's been brushed off at best and accused of maliciousness at worst the whole ass time he's been there. I'd want an excuse for someone to give a shit about my wellbeing, too!
And then they didn't even give a shit! Harukawa and Saihara were just like yeah okay that's weird anyway- and then he STUMBLES OFF and they do NOTHING! Didn't ask if he was okay or SHIT!
Even if it was Munchausen and it was a lie and he was exaggerating how bad it was can you imagine how fucked that is? He rounds the corner and slips into the bathroom to clean himself up and go back to acting like nothing happened, and he has to suffer the humiliation of casually sweeping it under the rug when it comes up during the trial because NO ONE GAVE A SHIT THAT HE WAS BLEEDING FROM THE FACE. They only care about the evidence part!
"Oh, Kokichi can tell you about the floorboards in the other room!"
And he has to awkwardly admit that he stepped through it and got beaned in the head, but just doesn't mention the part about collapsing in the hall because why the fuck would he? Saihara and Harukawa didn't give a shit when they found him, why would anyone give a shit if he mentioned it now? They didn't even give a shit about the fact he got hit in the head at all!
Can you imagine how much that must've sucked ass if it was driven by Munchausen? You're so alone, so desperate for someone to actually care about you that you deliberately bean yourself in the head and risk giving yourself a severe concussion in a KILLING GAME just so someone will express even the tiniest hint of concern, and then they just straight up DON'T.

I added water effects at the front and back and made reins out of dental tape. Everything wouldn't fit on the standard base—plus, the standard base was really boring—so I had to enlarge it.

Munchausen awareness day
Today, February 10th, exactly 75 years ago Munchausen syndrome was first referred to by it's given name in an article published by physician Richard Asher. After 75 years of being in public knowledge, this highly stigmatized disorder has continuously been misrepresented and misunderstood, people suffering from it are still often ignored or mistreated. Despite the common narrative, people with munchausen are not evil, simply misunderstood. The focus continues to be on how their symptoms effect the people around them even though the person with munchausen is always the one who suffers from it the most. Munhcausen is one of the most brutal disorders as it effects every single aspect of your life. It can ruin your relationships, it can ruin your health, it can even kill you. Repressing the urges can eat away at a person suffering in complete silence and once it finally gets too far and their symptoms start showing they are often abandoned by their loved ones at a time where they would need them the most, leaving them fight it completely alone can lead to devastating outcomes. There's an unfortunate amount of cases where people with munchausen end up developing severe complications or even dying due to lack of access to help. Spreading awareness and ending the stigma is a key step in improving and saving lives of people who suffer from munchausen syndrome. Having a day to spread awareness is one way to do that.
The joy of Munchausen's
Before I begin, let me say that I do not mean to imply that this is a fun disorder or that it's without its downsides. Goodness knows how horrible the shame and guilt can be, along with many many other parts of this disorder. But, for me, Munchausen's, Factitious disorder, however you may like to call it? It has such nice upsides. Faking, inducing, exaggerating symptoms, injuries, issues - it's something that does what it's meant to: It gets me the attention that I want, that I crave, that I need. It makes me feel seen, makes me feel like people actually take me seriously for once in my life, it makes me feel like people genuinely care. I am so excited when enough time has passed that it's plausible that I'm sick again! There's so much joy, not in decieving people, but that my plan's worked and the desired outcome (Attention, being taken seriously) has come to pass. Going from being chronically ignored and neglected to being the centre of attention, just because you 'feel faint'? there's little that rivals that feeling I just talked to myself in my mirror for a good 30 minutes about this, about the small moments of joy that comes with this, but I've forgotten most of it so this is all for now
