The article details what's going on in the Chinese Film and TV industry with regards to AI. I highly recommend it if you're interested in this subject.

Sometimes, these actors even sign away their fate—quite literally—as some companies now require “AI authorization” clauses as a condition of employment, effectively selling their digital likeness just to get a job.

For now, the only collective pushback against the full “AI-fication” of the industry comes from Chinese netizens themselves: boycotting platforms and production companies using AI actors, and voting with their views.

i know that some people might argue that xz was over acting especially in some of the cloud recesses scenes and i also know that from a doylist perspective his acting choices are defensible as consistent with the genre but from a watsonian perspective i like to think that wwx was fr that exaggerated in his expressions and mannerisms intentionally as part of the endless comedy bit that was his life up to that point
