PARTY AT SOME RICH KID/ASSHOLE’S HOUSE FRIDAY NIGHT, AROUND 9:58 PM

If Lionel knew his children, (or at least one-half of them) were out getting shitfaced -- he’d be livid. They were supposed to be at home, studying because it was a school night and he had a big meeting tomorrow with investors coming by for dinner, as part of a big, covert project for Luthorcorp. The Queens couldn’t attend (obviously) but they were sending subsidiaries in their place. At least until Oliver was old enough to take over the family business. Which wouldn’t be until after college. Laura wanted her first born to get everything normal out of life before he was expected to carry on Robert Queen’s legacy. Lionel, on the other hand, didn’t believe Lex needed a college education. He’d learn more by doing than by studying in a classroom. Plus, his intelligence was already at it’s peak because he was constantly being challenged and put to the test at home.

Lena, on the other hand... she wasn’t being groomed to take over anything. Between her and Lex, she was the red-headed stepchild. She was the product of an affair and only taken in because it did wonders for Lionel’s reputation. At least, that’s what Lena believed and it’s often how she felt. Regardless of Lex trying to convince her otherwise. So with that said, Lena saw no point in staying home and burying her nose in a book. Not when her peers and her friends were out getting drunk at some party. She just wanted to be normal.

“Bottoms up, new girl.” One of the receivers on the football team raised his glass, while encouraging Lena to drink. She did. Never the wiser that he slipped her something extra. As far as she was concerned, joining the cheerleading squad had done wonders for her high school experience, she was finally getting noticed. Because, she was now invited to parties and could be seen spying on Ollie from across the room to make sure he wasn’t making out with any girls. She’d be devastated if that was the case because her crush on him grew by the day, even though they weren’t together and never have been. He hadn’t even come over to talk to her yet because he’d only just arrived with a few of his friends (none of which included Lex or Jason anymore). But she was hoping he would so she wouldn’t have to feel like a pathetic, little puppy dog, always following him around.

Meanwhile, Lex must’ve noticed Lena had snuck out because her phone wouldn’t stop buzzing in her pocket. She pulled it out to have a look at the text messages and responded with a thumbs up 👍 emoji, as if to say she was okay and for him not to worry. Had she typed out an actual message, she was sure she’d butcher the words and then he’d know for certain, she was under the influence and it was probably wise to come get her before she ended up making a complete and utter fool out of herself.  @murderselfie

Objectively speaking, it wasn’t a bad party. There was cold beer, loud music, and a lot of horny college students, and wasn’t that the definition of a good party? Still, Emma couldn’t handle too many hours of it. And, despite how much she knows them, there’s still a part of her that’s surprised at Jake’s and Brooke’s ability to stay active during the whole duration of it. With the can of beer in her hand, Emma found a quieter spot outside the house, a little away from where the action was happening. She spent a few minutes in silence, (sobering up) just catching a break, before someone else found her spot. 

“This would be the perfect time for a smoke. If, you know, I smoked.” A small smile appeared on Emma’s lips, a joke upon the apparition of her friend. It was a little weird seeing him by himself, especially considering that she imagined at one point of the night that him and Brooke would be too busy with each other to see them again for the rest of the night, but she decided not to ask about it. Not for the moment, at least. “I’ll give it to you, Jake; you did a pretty good job. Whatever fraternity doesn’t accept you after this is clearly insane or blind.”
