A soft laugh was offered as a reply, before a nod and the assurance of his presence later that night. They couldn’t speak much longer before being interrupted by the bell, rushing them to go to their own classes.

Matthew wasn’t usually so punctual when coming to parties, but that was a pre-game, and he didn’t know how much time would V’s friends and herself want to spend before going to the actual event. With that in mind, he made the mental note to at least try to appear on time, not wanting his first invitation to a private party thrown by Veronica being his last.
At nine seven, he was entering the pembrooke, not entirely sure what he had imagined but what he saw being something like it. Despite Veronica’s assurance that she would be the one handling the ‘ party favors ‘, it felt inconsiderate to come empty-handed. Carrying his own contribuation to the future alcholic state they’ll be in soon, there was the smallest smirk on his lips when he saw Veronica. “Not bad, Lodge. Not bad at all.” Mocking tone soon being replaced by an honest smile. “Hope I’m not the first one, that would be incredibly embarrassing.”
