Who Is Considered A Traveler?
Therefore, that which the evidence points to, which leaves no discomfort in the soul is: So long as a person does not intend to stay in a place indefinitely or that he does not settle in a place to live permanently, then they are a musāfir (ie: considered a traveler). Regardless if his remaining in a destination is due to a time restraint or whether his remaining in a destination is due to a need he wishes to fulfill. There is no difference between the two situations as far as the rulings of a traveler are concerned.
