| the girl savior → Lucy Maclean
→ Lucy Maclean, after finding out who her father really was, now travels with The Ghoul and DogMeat and towards New Vegas with a new Goal in mind. To stop the man who helped in creating the Wastelands. Along the way they meet a young mute girl who had nothing but the clothes on her back.
→ inspired by Arcane - Jinx and Isha - will have elements from the show but with a little twist to make the idea a bit more original so it's not DIRECTLY from that form of media. This is just an idea, and if anyone wants more parts, I will happily write more on here (I'm terrified to write anything else on AO3 rn)
Lucy was the first to stop, her eyes locking onto a pair of pale e/c ones as a small child stood only a few feet ahead of the small group. The Ghoul - Cooper - Drew his gun once he was next to the MacLean girl. Lucy grabbed his wrist, "she's a child."
"you've been out here for a long while, Vaultie, so I'd suggest you lose the optimism." Cooper spoke, his eyes trained on the kid. She couldn't be that much older than Janey before the Bombs fell. "She could be with some raiders, or could be from a family a fiends. We do not know."
"maybe we should ask her," she pushed the gun down so it was pointed at the ground. The little girl watched them as DogMeat tilted his head, to which the girl did the same. Lucy slowly approaches the child, the young kid backed away a little, terrified. "Don't be afraid, I won't hurt you. My name is Lucy, the man behind me... Well, he won't tell me his name. Do you have a name?" The little girl understood because she gathered a necklace from her pocket, and handed Lucy the item. The brunette read the name engraved on the front of it. y/n. "y/n? Is that your name?"
The little girl nodded, taking the necklace away from Lucy. Cooper holstered his gun, watching them interact. The girl would just be another mouth to feed, and they were already low on supplies. They couldn't care for a child. Cooper probably, but Lucy, she's still in that optimistic mindset even after the ordeal and revelation of her father.
Can you guess who lost that argument. Yep, Cooper. They now had a child traveling with them and was happily walking next to Lucy, her hand grasping tightly onto the others. It was sort of domestic in a way. Lucy was looking at the GPS on her Pipboy as they walked, with DogMeat scouting ahead to make sure they wouldn't run into a RadScorpipn or a Deathclaw or anything else for that matter. "According to the map, we should be close to a settlement." Commented Lucy.
"we better be, 'cause we're almost out of supplies, and with our little "addition" we'll be out by sun down." Grumbled Cooper, walking behind her and the kid.
"you're being overdramatic," she waved him off. He was starting to get irritated by her ignorance and optimism. It almost reminds him of his old self. He definitely hated that. Tugging on Lucy's hand, y/n pointed towards something in the distance. It was a ruined city. "Great job y/n!" She ruffled the kids hair. y/n made a happy noise, Lucy smirked at the Ghoul. "See, I told you we were in the right direction."
Cooper rolled his eyes as they continued walking towards the City. Their Guns were held at their side as they entered the ruins. Looking at her Pipboy, she saw words popping up.
"diamond City? What's that?" Lucy asked. Cooper quickly snatched her wrist and looked at the name with narrowed eyes.
"a place that doesn't take to kindly to Ghouls. We best get a move on and avoid that place." Lucy took her wrist back with a frown.
"but it might have supplies we can refill on, and a place for y/n to sleep for the night." Cooper exhaled. She was right, and he hated that.
"find." He gave her a hard stare as she gave him a bright smile. They continued on until they made it to the wall that was Diamond City. Lucy unconsciously stayed close to Cooper with DogMeat now walking between the two adults, with y/n clutching onto Lucy. There were guards stationed near the bolthead, some of them gave Lucy and Cooper a look, most of them were disgusted as they looked at the kid walking next to them. They probably looked like a strange bunch.
Cooper pressed a bottom on the terminal for the speaker, which crackled alive. "Name and Business here at Diamond City?" The guard asked through the crackling static. Cooper let Lucy do the talking.
"uh, Lucy MacLean and, um, we're here to buy some supplies." Lucy said.
"and the Ghoul?" The man questioned. They must've had surveillance.
"with me... I mean, not with me with me, just... With me." Lucy said. Cooper found this a little amusing, and couldn't help but let a small smirk slip past his lips. A few minutes passed until the shutters opened, revealing a guard at his station and the mayor of Diamond City.
"ah! Welcome Lucy, my name's McDonough, and I'm the mayor of this city!" He gave her a false smile as the group walked towards him.
Cooper had a bad feeling about entering the City. He chose to stay close to Lucy and the kid, DogMeat would alert them if anything was amidst.
→ I know technically Cooper is based on Hancock, but I like combining fallout four and the series together. Does anyone want another part or is this a stupid idea? Thoughts.
