What happens to kick off the plot of Sonic Re:Scale is something that causes Sonic's body to react differently to chaos energy than normal, ex. He changes into a large, scaly, reptile-like form in which he is trapped for the time being. Upon absorbing the energies of the Chaos Emeralds, he can channel and amplify this energy towards powering up his new form:

It doesn't come without costs, however; after powering up with one Emerald, he loses the ability to speak coherently:

I attempted @weirdozjunkary's DTIYS! I've actually had the lineart done for several months now, so that's why the art looks a bit old. But yeah! This was challenging but super fun! I love MVA Sonic.

In honor of finishing and having the courage to post it, I decided to make a little comic of Dark Gaia Sonic meeting MVA Sonic by @weirdozjunkary. Tbh I'm pretty nervous about posting this but here i go...

It probably hurt like hell for him to bend over that far, although probably not as much as it would take for a regularperson, but if he's stuck looking like he does and being that big he may as well scare the shit out of alternate version of himself. It also might have to do with the Dark Gaia half of his mind taking the most joy in it but he'd rather not think on it too much. He already hates his situation.

Btw to put it into perspective just how fucking gigantic he is comparison, Dark Gaia Sonic is 147.03 meters while MVA Sonic is only 15.24 meters. If my math is right then that's a difference of about 131.79 meters.

To say MVA Sonic is lucky he's only 15.24 meters is a bit of an understatement in comparison...
