These are my siblings.
That's me, right in the middle in maroon.
I grew up as the oldest of four, the four starting with me and going right.
But when I was 15, my dad started reconnecting with his past, starting with Jodi (far left). Jodi was the result of a relationship my dad had as a teenager. Her mom wanted him to have nothing to do with the child, so he left and never thought he'd see her again.
Then again at 25, my dad (due to connections made by 23andMe...) discovered that a woman he had only known very briefly had apparently become pregnant with his child. Her name is Amanda (black and white polka dot dress).
But that was all, he said. Well, except the son that was adopted shortly after birth, but we would never know him. He'd turned 18 years ago and could have asked for information about his birth parents. He never did.
Until I was 26, this past weekend, when Ryan (left of me) found them. Not quite by accident, but he also hadn't really planned on it. He found my dad the day before our family photos were planned to be taken. He agreed to meet us. The day after finding us. And the day after that, we met his family.
My family has grown in a rather non-traditional, non-linear way, but I love every one of them. Seriously, I met them and immediately knew they were family, every time.
So that's me. And my family's crazy story.
P.S my Swiftie sister is the one on the far right in the Lover vibes shirt. None of the others are super fans. They have a more like casual appreciation.
Also P.S of the 7, I am the only one who got Cystic Fibrosis, a recessive *genetic* disease. Bullets have been dodged so many times. LOL
