03/48: Not a bad way at all to kick off teaching for a class that isn't fellow students or friends. Thank you to the amazing @maladhara for letting me teach at this month's Flow and Glow. What a fantastic atmosphere that Ploy has created. If you haven't made it out to Maladhara yet, well, you are missing out my friend. #yogaeverydamnday - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - #teachingyoga #myfirstclass #yogainstructor #outdooryogapractice #outdooryoga #doisaket #mosquitobites #maladhara #ployisagodesswhowalksamongus #gypsylife #greenery_scenery #greatoutdoors #bambooarchitecture #ricepaddies #waterbuffalo #wideeyedandwandering #tumbleweedtales

First last day of school
Yesterday was the last day of school, and I was quite emotional - no tears - but emotional. My first class?! I had dreamed of this moment since I started undergraduate studies. It took me a little bit longer than most people to get my dream job, but I got there. I’m here. I’m in my dream job. How many people get to say that?
I am so grateful - so unbearably grateful.
A couple of months ago one of my students wrote a secret mean letter that I found in an envelope, and it said, “I hate you teacher.” I was crushed. I admit that I cried a bit. How could they hate me? I was doing my best! Lesson planning until I was crossed eyed, spending more time explaining, re-explaining, providing examples, modelling, and bringing in different resources. I vowed to work even harder. Fast forward. Yesterday, a mere 10 minutes after school was over, the office calls and says I have a phone call. I pick up and it is the student that hates me. They’ve called to say they love me and that they miss me.
It was reaffirmation - my job is the best one. I spent these last few months trying to warm this student’s mind to learning, trying new strategies, providing them with confidence and skills to make them successful. Big smiles, thumbs up, and constant reassurance. This one was one of many of my success stories this year. I couldn’t have picked a better job. The rewards are endless.
