The geishas, cooks, and the food. I had been here last year but only for a short time so I couldn't snap any photos of geishas. I also didn't appreciate the beauty of Gion as much as I knew I would on this trip. This time around I had an hour or so to sit around and wait. As soon as a few people saw one, everyone grabbed their cameras and follower her, which was kind of saddening. Geishas are like snow leopards of society. Majestic, secretive, quick, and absolutely beautiful ...maybe like unicorns would be...haha. In Gion they are almost like ghosts when they go from tea house to tea house, practically running between to meet with their next client.
I think I saw about 6 geisha's in almost an hour of being in their main working area.
