In one of my #yogaclasses one of the students was in #childspose and I came over and gave her an assist . After the class she approached me to ask what she was doing wrong . Nothing 🤭! . Sometimes I forget what my first class was like . I felt the same way when a teacher adjusted or assisted me - like I was doing something wrong 🙈. . Fast forward to years later and I walk into a yoga class - plop #mymat down at the front of the class and tell the teacher how much I loveeeee adjustments and assists . When I’m lucky the teacher assists me on basically every pose ✌️. . A teacher assisting you doesn’t mean you’re doing something wrong - esp in a class like yoga my personal policy is that there are no illegal moves as long as you’re not baring weight . There may just be a different way to feel the pose in your body and ain’t nothin wrong w day girl 👌. . It may not work well for your body to make the adjustment but you’ll never know until you try it out! . What’s your take on adjustments in a class? Love em or hate em . The view on my mat. I'm so grateful everyday to have been introduced to yoga and meditation. I just finished a very short, 30 minute flow, allowing myself to move however my body asked. We are always growing, so a little discomfort can benefit us. But it is up to us on whether we choose to sit in anger and resentment OR you can choose to make lemonade out of lemons and learn from our experiences. We are growing creature we often need to push ourselves in order to become content. I have realized that those who choose to grow from experience often embrace love, kindness, compassion and joy, these are powerful aspirations and the root of bodhichitta.
