Sooooo I couldn't make it to the gym (I did go to crossfit but they don't have anything) to try and modify wheel pose and 3 legged wheel pose for #selflovingyogis 22 & Day 23. I feel like I'm making excuses but I don't have a chair or ball low enough to figure this out. ☹️ Oh well, so I did a short little flow before getting ready to bed. It was late last night as I was preparing a class for the following day. I was writing my meditation when suddenly this boy came and placed his head in my lap as in to say, "mom, no need to plan, just speak from the heart." Okay let's be real, he said, "pet me now human!" Still in that moment, I could feel that unconditional love my dog has for me and Brandon. It's a pure love, we are perfect in his eyes. Being a bigger woman, I had self doubt and anger towards myself. I have always been a curvy woman, and it has taken many years to accept myself just the way I am. I wonder, why can't we see ourselves in that light? Why can't we have that unconditional love towards ourselves? We often sit in judgement of our bodies our minds, even others. Maybe that's why dogs have come into our lives, to remind us that we are worth everything, we are worthy! And as he continues to bump my nose as I write this, I have my pup to thank for today's meditation, as I speak this mantra today I will know. May we dwell in great equanimity free from passion, aggression, and prejudice." -------------- I have found that there are those who choose to sit in discomfort and those who choose to make joy. We are always growing, so a little discomfort can benefit us. But it is up to us on whether we choose to sit in anger and resentment OR you can choose to make lemonade out of lemons and learn from our experiences. We are growing creature we often need to push ourselves in order to become content. I have realized that those who choose to grow from experience often embrace love, kindness, compassion and joy, these are powerful aspirations and the root of bodhichitta.
