thinijng just a littke more about Bohdie and Ein's duo potential
(which sucks bc i want. i dont want to leave kacey alone. but just idk justs Hold On a minute)
SO. first i'm going to start with the reason why i put bohdie and ein in the same playpen in the first place. and it's just really simple; ein has fuckall no friends.
nobody in universe cares about him. his "father" and his "mentor" and everyone he grew up around and everyone he's ever interacted with his whole life has always thought of him as Lesser. or a Monster. or a Tool or Weapon. just. anything but a person.
so, in comes bohdie! someone who genuinely doesn't care about most of anything exceptttt maybe 2 very important things: 1. the freedom to do as he likes and 2. that freedom for everyone else, too. which means, bohdie Doesn't Like Werewolf Social Systems!! or Truly Any for that matter!! he hates senseless restrictions and rules! so, he doesn't give a shit who's an alpha or omega. he is, essentially, what the werewolves would call a Lone Wolf. even tho he is pretty sociable
the other werewolves think he's odd for this, sure, but they don't really bring it up and just naturally distance from him instead. which isn't hard, bc bohdie's too busy playing drums in his friend's band and doing whatever it is bohdie does
now. i didnt mentioned this, but bohdie is an older brother. he has two younger siblings- fraternal twins, born opposite genders, one is nb- and he loves those kids to death. he's actually a really annoying, clingy older brother type but a bit of a dick about it- yknow what i'm talking about, right?
well, he's a little bit of that way with everybody, in general; if he's always taking opportunities to annoy you, it means he likes you. but if it's just on occasion (usually very pointedly), it means he doesn't like you at all.
at the start, bohdie didn't really care about ein at all. he knew he was the omega, and that he was kind of odd, but that's about it and he didn't care about it. he only started taking more notice when the others were always making a big deal out of him
shooting him looks, passing growls, stuff like that- things that they were supposed to do to an omega. "put him in his place" that sort of stuff. and that exact sort of stuff Really Pissed Bohdie Off
none of these people even knew this guy, the fuck did he do to deserve this randomass target on his back? sit quietly? smell nice? bohdie was getting fed up. but, before he could figure out what to do, it all just... stopped. died down. he didn't know what happened, but he figured that their Alpha must've taken care of it. he knew there was a reason he liked her from the get-go; little lady practically radiates good vibes (and also constant stress but that was none of his business)
still, he had grown.. a slight bit of attachment of worry for ein. all that bullying really irked him, and he wanted to make sure the guy was okay. because, well, bohdie's an older brother. and (though he'd never ever admit it) he's a very protective one, at that. and he's secretly always worried about and looking out for people.. to help keep them free
sooo (i say so a lot.), whenever he got the chance, he'd take the time to go out of his way to get closer to ein. which, ofc, was kind of hard! he never seemed interested in talking to others.. besides Aphmau- which bohdie understood, but also. bohdie didn't care. and thus Annoyance Begins.
they didn't interact much, but when bohdie got his opportunities, he took them. a bit of a tease here, a bit of a taunt there, and then bohdie would leave him alone. ein. fuckin Hated it like Man you were the one bitch that left me alone... now that i'm special You're Messing With Me? literally told not to do that. by the alpha. what the hell and fuck.
eventually, bohdie does wane off of him with the teasing, because he's like Yeah, he's fine. he's got the alpha's support he'll be fine. and then Oh Shit. HE'S made the alpha. and, at first bohdie continues not to care
but Then. ein starts all the stuff with less restrictions and rules on the werewolves... stops meddling in arguments, stops making them conform to human standards, stops trying to keep them in line, lets them have the freedom to do as they please
and bohdie was, of course, very excited with that. he suddenly thought ein was the Coolest guy in school. i mean, he didn't agree with everything he was doing; he thought appointing an omega at all was kinda fucked up and still conforming to werewolf traditions; but otherwise, he thought he was alright! And he got Way More Annoying about it.
like i said in my first post. eventually, bohdie thinks ein is his best friend <3 and ein wants to beat him with hammers <3

The life of the stranger before falling into the star fissure is unknown so I like to think she bumped her head somewhere on the way in and ended up with amnesia.
Which is probably for the best considering the Myst games take place in the 18th century and she is autistic and unable to mask. The only reason she was not sent to an asylum (which would as awful as it is- be period accurate) was because she’s she grew up in a small community in the country and they didn’t mind she wouldn’t speak if she did well with helping out with day to day life and preparing for the winter. (There probably was still some awful things that happened to her because of it though)
The D’ni seem far more understanding and advanced than humans, and Atrus is especially kind. He lets Esmé stay with him and his family after the events of Riven. Esmé eventually decides to restore and live in Myst, the family having abandoned it after the betrayal of Sirrus and Achenar.
She remains close with Atrus and his family. After the events of Exile she requests to learn The Art, and Atrus excitedly agrees. Esmé also loves Yeesha, and listens intently while she talks for hours.
As for being genderqueer- I’ve decided she figured that out and what that meant after visiting a bunch of ages and learning what Americans in the 18th century would have hidden and called taboo.
