I was OK muting all the channels where I might see him. I was OK staying out of the server where I would see him. I was OK blacklisting his name, her name, and the band’s name in tags so I wouldn’t see them on other social media. And I told you that it was because I felt unsafe among people who alienated me for being neither white nor a hearing person. And that wasn’t enough because you still fucking had to encroach on my space to tell me...that I wasn’t welcome in a space I had done my best to avoid for weeks. That I had told you, very clearly, that I was uncomfortable in. And then you had to drag me into it anyways.

So congratulations, I was never a fan in the first place but now I’m actively an anti-fan of your shitty band. I’m still blacklisting the “joey batey,” “madison madeleine hyland” (LOL thanks @gwaciechang), “amazing devil,” and “witcher” tags across all social media. But now if I see any more content of theirs I will reblog and comment just to trash the fuck out of it. I do not care if this hurts your feelings; if you make me see it then you’ve clearly shown you don’t care about mine. Thank you.

I take it you're wanting to avoid Oxbridge then. :-) I think you may want Durham or St Andrews (the latter is in Scotland). Though I mean I was an undergrad at Cambridge in 1999 and there were a few people in a lot of leather even there. A functioning goth club or two existed for a reason. ;-) But definitely less usual!

Hrm.  3+ hours travel from London is... not what I was hoping for, and I have it on another authority that Cambridge doesn’t allow students to have jobs while they’re attending.  Someone else suggested University College London, which is certainly in "reasonable commute to Soho” territory!

Ooooh can I recommend giving it another go sometime? (I admit I’m biased - I have listened to that series a terrifying number of times, transcribed the script for playreading purposes, and just generally am rather obsessed with it. It probably helps that I was 7 or 8 when i first listened to it so any difficulty i had in learning to distinguish McAndrew’s and O'Callaghan’s voices kind of was part of my general getting to know the whole thing, mind. :-) )

But I do so love O'Callaghan’s Merry being so snarky and efficient and vulnerable and kick-ass. :-)

I’d like to! but I don’t do well w audio things - i used to listen to a lot of them at work but I don’t have a job where I can listen to stuff any more unfortunately.

radio!pippin did make an impression on me tho, i remember really enjoying him but I can’t remember anything about radio!merry? whoops
