#KimickaPhotoADay December Day 30: Reflect 🥹 The first picture is my Instagram Top 9. 2022...this has been...quite a year, hasn't it? A great year in music. I had great times with my family. I got to see all my friends in person, together, for the first time since 2019. I visited both sets of grandparents. I pet lots of cats. Halloween was a lot of fun. Christmas was magical. Our cats were extremely cute every single day. I went to a country music festival with my dad and sisters. My birthday was fantastic. Mother's Day was great. Girls' Generation came back for the first time in 5 years with a full album. Taeyeon's INVU. Taylor Swift's Midnights. I even got a signed copy of Midnights. We tried Hello Fresh. I read a good amount of books. I found new favorite books. I had a good year. But. There were some lows...some major lows...my family caught Covid (all but my brother, and we all recovered)...and we lost my cousin. So, I won't say 2022 was a great year. Because it wasn't. There were good things, and there were bad things. But, that's life, isn't it? The video of course highlights all the good things. And I've not even listed the things in order that they appear in the video/collages, lol. So, 2022 was quite a year. For everyone. And this is just listing the things personal to me. I can't even list all of the major things that happened this year in the world without going over instagrams character limit. 2022 brought changes, and challenges, highs & lows, but, we survived, and now we're heading into a new year. New beginnings. New challenges. My Year

I really thought 2020 was going to be ‘my year’.. Yes I know that's a cliché and I am not normally the kind of girl to run around drunk at the new years eve party shouting about my new years resolutions and how it’s going to be my year (although I do run around drunk most new years .. Nights). However, this year was looking like it could be a strong contender! I had just met the boy of my dreams, I was starting at a new university surrounded by new people and I had a great group of friends. 

Then that clock struck 12 and 2020 came hurtling in and hit me... and i felt nothing! 

As silly as it seems now I expected this year to bring with it a wave of positivity and creativity. I expected to see a completely new side of myself one full of confidence and happiness so when this year turned out to be well.. lets just say not up to the high standards I expected it was a bit of a kicker.

My first few months of this year were spent in lockdown. Not exactly the strong start I’d expected but still 6 months left and I was going to make those 6 months count!! and then in happened, I had a mid-life crisis... at the age of 20..

Midlife crisis-  A loss of self-confidence and feeling of anxiety or disappointment that can occur in early middle age.

As I sat alone in my £6,000 university room, pot noodle in hand and tears streaming down my face I thought to myself ‘I’m 20 and what have I done with my life?’. I now realize that I was probably being a bit hard on myself (as many young adults are) and although I am still going through a crisis of sorts, It most definitely is not a midlife crisis! I am 20, I am new to being an adult and I have many many more years left to mature and work on who I am as a person! 

This year was most definitely not my year! but your year is what you make it and although I am not the confident skinny new me that I wanted to be I still have that special guy, those special friends and hopes that next year will be ..
