Underground, Up The Sky. (RM and Suga - Respect), Part 1.
Emailing the agency takes longer than a few minutes for Yoongi. All he has to do is just type in his name in the link that has been sent to his email a few days ago and submitted it. But here he is typing with his eyes rather than his hands.
He doesn't want to make a rash decision. As a teenager, he has his fair share of doing exactly that. But signing up with an agency is such a big decision. It can make his career better or worsen. The fact that the agency has Runch Randa as one of their talents speaks a lot, but many things can still go wrong.
Sure, he wants to pursue music, uploads his mixtape and raps his song. But if he sign up with that agency there is a possibility that they decided to steer his career in to a different direction. Maybe, it is their plan to use Runch Randa as bait and lure people to do audition. Even if that middle aged man said that they are preparing a group to debut, which currently only has Runch Randa in it, it's not 100% decided that they will debut as a hiphop group.
Yoongi knows for a fact how cunning can agencies be. Few months ago, he meets his bestfriend who auditioned to YG Entertainment. An agency which is famous with their rules in allowing artist to make their own music. These days, those people control their artists' stage, music, outfit, dance, and so on. It is a rare case to see an agency who give their artists creative freedom.
His bestfriend did it. He is accepted as one of their trainees and signed with them, but two weeks in to being a trainee he knows something he shouldn't. He was lured because he thought they will debut him as a hip-hop artist or part of hip-hop group. No, that agency only cares for money. Even if they know their talents only have eyes for hip-hop, they still decide to debut him in a boygroup. A fucking boygroup who dance and wear make ups.
Yoongi is never one to judge someone based on what they wear or like, but he knows himself. He doesn't want to be in one of those boygroup and be their pathetic little rapper who only raps a few lines because they can't sing. That's why he hesitates in auditioning to any agencies. The fact that Bighit has Runch Randa, a young boy who has respect from any senior artists, as one of their talents make him turn his head.
He also weighs the good side, rationally. Signing up to an agency can make his career more stable, at least stable enough to put food on the table and roof above his head without needing him to do three part time jobs. He can do music much more serious and with much better equipments, rather than a shitty guitar who has been fixed for the nth time and microphone from his headset to record.
It will also allow him to have more opportunities. In the long run, he can have much more gigs and earn much more money. They will also probably help him in setting up his fanbase, a loyal group of fan who will support him and stream his mixtapes.
Yoongi has to admit. Even if his career is going to be underrated in the future, it is still a much better setting than making musics while earning money with three part-time jobs. He probably debuts with Runch Randa, so it's even better. That way, the possibilities that they will have a much larger fanbase and much more gigs are not a lost case.
Yoongi wish his decision isn't going to bite him in the ass...
It has been two months since his performance.
From what Bang PD told him, they have submission more than expected. They estimated to lurk in less than hundred people to auditioned with them. But now they have received more than 400 hundreds in their emails. Everyone in the agency is busy trying to replied any email asking for the audition, some people check the submitted form and discard any form which has missing documents.
Namjoon is always amazed by how much power that Runch Randa holds.
As a 16 years old, he always imagine people to belittle him or any of his songs. The underground rap scene is harsh and cold. No one is willing to give any hand and help you come out of the dirt, because it is like competition. People drag others down so they can go up. The underground world has no rules, the one who survive is probably the one who has more scars than people see.
Namjoon never wants his career to be like that.
Even if his talent would one day flops, he doesn't want to bring other people down to make his career shone. Not if they never did him dirty, anyway. If it is people who disrespect him, he is not giving them any mercy. He will make sure to drag their career to mud and back, until they didn't know anything other than respecting him.
It doesn't mean that he is one of those people who demand respect.
People may have different opinion and taste, but it is not an excuse for them to disrespect anyone. Not liking someone or something doesn't necessarily means you have to drag them down. He hates those kind of people.
Namjoon hates people who watch from the sidelines even more.
