Mismatched Spoilers - They did Namrata so bad. She’s now my gf and she ain’t taking any more of your shit.
Namrata had to leave. She couldn’t stand here anymore, not near him, not after he had ruined her life.
She turned to look at Rishi with a final look before running away from the people who were looking over, running away from the lights and the noise, and running away from her now ex best friend of 14 years.
She could feel the wind hitting her now wet face as she ran. And she had to stop herself from wiping it. She ran to the small fountain near the edge of the campus, one that she had become quite familiar with these past few days.
She remembered the day she had found it. She had been so happy, She and Celina had found that kitten, who she affectionately called Rani. When Namrata had come back to the campus and took a walk with Rani, she had stumbled on this fountain. It was old, and plants were growing quickly near it, but Namrata fell in love.
She had sat on the bench and had taken out a coin, giving it a kiss and thinking, “I hope that Celina likes me like that”. She threw the coin in the fountain and had walked off with Rani, feeling a bit happier as she did so.
Now however, it was different. Her friendship with her was destroyed, and she had nothing to look forward too anymore. She looked at the coin that she had thrown those days ago, quickly looking away as she felt the tears return, before looking back and reaching her hand and taking it out.
She looked at it, and the memories started replaying in her mind. Memories of Celina and her riding on her motorcycle. Memories of them laughing together. Memories of Rishi and her being excited over her crush. Memories of all of them together. She remembered the memories, and threw the coin far away, and with it, she pushed the memories back down before curling in on herself, and letting the tears fall once again.
She was scared, she really was. Scared, angry, and hurt. She didn’t understand how it could have all went wrong. She didn’t know why they all found it important to out her to each other, and then Celina to so many more people. She couldn’t understand.
She stayed at the fountain, thankful that it was slightly hidden, so she could be alone. She sat there, letting herself cry as the memories kept rushing back in.
When she got up, she had the beginnings of a plan. She couldn’t go back home, not now. So, she was going to finish this course, find someone she could trust, and go from there.
Because they might have destroyed her life, she wouldn’t let them destroy her.
