My PMDD is named Philomena
I want to cry so freak'n bad cause that "time of month" is around the corner. If you do not know about Premenstrual Dysphoric Disorder [PMDD] it's a severe mood disorder caused by a negative physiological reaction to a woman's own ovulation cycle. (napmdd.org/get-the-facts) Also, PMDD is not PMS. With that said, this disorder can be seriously maddening for the one who suffers from it, and for those around her.
On a personal level.....oh gosh, I don't know where to start. :( Oh yes, some of the top symptoms for me are extreme fatigue, confusion, increased heart rate, anxious, depressed and decrease appetite. Only to mention a few! *sigh* For example, I'm prone to be hypoglycemic plus basic menstrual symptoms and adding all that onto being PMDD. OMGosh, it's absolute torture!
On the National Association of Premenstrual Dysphoric Disorder website, gives a good explaination on what PMDD feels like for those who don't suffer from it. - 'Women with PMDD often describe a "Jekyll and Hyde" shift in their personality and well being during PMDD. They often feel like the opposite of who they are normally. Women with PMDD can feel anxious about just leaving their house when they are normally very social. PMDD can make a sufferer feel "out of control" and like they are "losing their minds". Many women with PMDD feel plain "crazy".' (napmdd.org/get-the-facts)
That's it for now. More future posts to come. yay :(
