First of all, Sasuke is usually a very calm and strategic character. If he is charging ahead blindly, perhaps the narrative is trying to tell you that he is having an episode. Yes, people do irrational things when they have their PTSD triggered. What else is new?

Secondly, Naruto, Sasuke's loser teammate, beat what's basically a demigod the other day. Not to mention that the last time Sasuke saw his brother, they were both children. Sasuke has absolutely no concept of where both he and Itachi are supposed to rank in terms of power.

Reason # 42,217 to appreciate Kakashi.

Reading Sakura Hiden (I know I know, I’m late to the game) and it’s humbling to see him be so open, brutally honest, and downright vulnerable in sharing his own struggles with his mental health with Sakura, his student. And telling her that’s why he was fighting so hard to help her help future generations get the mental health help they need. The system failed him and his generation and he refused to let that happen again. Hence all the changes he made in his tenure. Gotta respect that!

I mean, I’m guessing his kids (Team 7) knew he had something going on, because who didn’t?? - he’d been through two wars for crying out loud, but to them, as the “adult,” he was the one they all turned to, the one who was supposed to have it all together. Remember, as a reader and viewer, we’re privy to his past; his students knew pretty much nothing about him, aside from what was shared in the war with Obito. They didn’t know about his dad; they didn’t know much about Team Minato and their demises; they knew he was in Anbu, but not the details; didn’t know about the ptsd and panic attacks, his incessant desire to die, etc…So, for him to admit it to Sakura, not necessarily the details, but the fact that he has struggled with his mental health and had his own demons was a huge step in his acknowledging how much he trusts those kids and respects them as allies and equals, and as friends.

I'm starting to see why Manga readers hate Sakura's adaptation in the anime, and this further proves that pierrot really hates Sakura and are extremely biased.

Edited: it has been pointed out to me that this scene is in fact, in the anime, but after I saw it, my problem is leaning more on how they interpret the whole dialogues. In the manga, Sakura is more soft on Naruto, while in the anime she comes off as borderline harsh, which is kinda sad, bcs it makes the character lose the compassionate and gentle touch they actually have.

Also, i find it awfully weird how in fillers/non-canon eps, they portray Sakura in a better light (she has her good moments there, which is why i came to like her in the first place). Aside from the original canon episode "Sasori's Real Face", which was directed canonically, the rest where she shines in the manga is replaced or plainly just-... Disappears, even in canon episodes.

It's like Pierrot went. "We don't want her as a heroine, so let's downplay her personality, but not enough so that it will bring fans outrage to downward remove her, because she's still Kishimoto's property. Let's get a little dirt on her." Type behavior. And it gets worse in Boruto. The woman has quite literally disappeared off the planet.😂

While Naruto "fans" call Sakura an "abuser", selfish, and inconsiderate, know that this and many other manga panels like this exist. And people just forget about the fact that they were still kids, thrown into a lion's den, basically. (ofc, less hostile than the warring period, where one had to kill to survive (Itachi, Kakashi, etc...).) and forget that oh- hey! They're KIDS. Kids always say mean stuff like "I hate you!" to each other when they get mad.

Like, my girl was WILLING to postpone her career to keep Naruto safe, and try again as a team next year.

This PISSES ME OFF so much. Why is Sakura even in this poll??? Why is Sakura an option next to Hiruzen and Rasa??? Why the fuck is Sakura an option next to DANZÔ??? And why did so many people vote for her???

Hiruzen is hated by many people (including me lol) because of the way he treated Naruto (letting him be treated like shit by the village, letting him live alone in a small appartment as a little boy, hiding his parents' identity from him, keeping his parents' belongings from him, hiding the truth about the nine tails from him...), because he allowed all that shit with the Hyūga to happen (why in the world was the seal thing even legal?), because he let the Uchiha massacre happen and because he literally tore Kushina away from her home and her country to make her a jinchūriki, to make her a weapon. Pretty serious things.

Rasa is hated because he made his own son a jinchūriki and then treated him like shit. He never gave him any love or affection, he let everyone treat him like shit, he treated him like a weapon and then he tried to KILL him. To KILL his own SON. He purposefully made Gaara's life horrible to see if that helped him control Shukaku and when it didn't work, he tried to murder him. Not to mention he literally sacrificed his own wife for the sake of military power and allied himself with Orochimaru to attack Konoha - a questionable choice, to say the least, regardless of what you think of Konoha.

Danzô... Do I even need to talk about it? ROOT, the Uchiha massacre, the stolen sharingan, the years of manipulation in the shadows to become Hokage, Orochimaru, the attempt to take over the Shinobi Alliance with Shisui's Sharingan... It's hard to find such an asshole.

And Sakura... What did she do, exactly? What did she do to deserve to be an option? What did she do to be put next to Hiruzen, Rasa and Danzô? What did she do for so many people to vote for her and to hate her more than they hate a guy who let an orphan live alone and be bullied by everyone, a guy who tried to kill his son, and a guy who ordered the massacre of an entire clan???

Sakura's only crime is that she doesn't like Naruto back, and people literally cannot handle this. She's not in love with the male main character who's in love with her so she's horrible. How dare a female character refuse to date the hero????

Her being in that poll is insane, it makes me really angry.

in naruto, many fights often corresponded to yearning, “personal” fights were desperate and full of emotional struggle. this was notable at the end of naruto OG in naruto vs sasuke, with animation that stood the test of time.

kakashi vs obito directly paralleled the past they once had. of course, sasuke vs itachi, where i wanted to look into itachi’s mind far more than genjutsu ever could. even pain vs jiraiya had this bitter irony. this is only to name a few

⭐️» Are Naruto novels canon?

Simple answer: no

In this account I will give you the best information possible because the Naruto fandom is FULL of misinformation and lies.

One of the arguments misinformed people use is that:

"The novels are canon because they have a chronology."

1. The chronologies themselves call them "chronological series of novels." Meaning they're meant to show the reader when the novels are supposed to take place; that does NOT make them canon.

2. The fact that the novels have a chronology doesn't make them canon. Even the anime itself has a chronology.

As I told you, a chronology does not mean that something is canon, because the anime itself has a chronology in its published book and with Kishimoto's name.

Another thing that the fandom ignores because they feel like it, is that these "mega canon chronological lists" remove and add novels at will XD contradicting what they say about each other.

"The novels are canon because they were illustrated by Kishimoto and his name is on the cover."

No, that doesn't make them canon.

As you can see, there are many more novels of the Naruto manga. ALL with Kishimoto's name on the cover, and several even illustrated by Kishi himself.

From novelizations of the films to original works, none are canon, and most of these were previously unknown to the fandom.

"The novels are canon because they add information to the original material and were written by Kishi and Ikemoto."

That's another argument that's been made and is easy to refute, because the novels are full of inconsistencies that don't fit with the original material. One very clear and notable inconsistency occurs in the Shinden trilogy.

In the "super canon" novel trilogy, Sasuke arrives in Konoha and searches for the house Sakura destroyed in the Naruto Gaiden manga, finding only rubble. He didn't understand what was happening, even believing it was a genjutsu.

He even checked the note Sakura had left him with the address from years ago. Now, where's the mistake?

According to the timelines, the Shinden trilogy takes place SHORTLY AFTER the Boruto movie and the Naruto Gaiden manga. What's up with that?

It turns out that in both the Boruto movie, the Boruto manga, and Naruto Gaiden, Sasuke had been to the Uchiha family's apartment. He knew where it was and spent days in the village, but in the mega-canonical novel, Sasuke didn't even know his family had moved out of the house Sakura destroyed.

"The novels are canon because they were adapted into anime. Sasuke Retsuden has an anime adaptation, and even its own manga, so is canon."

The film Road to Ninja is well known in the fandom as the first film in which Kishimoto participated in the script, supervised it, and actively participated in the designs.

TRANSLATION: «This film was made in 2012 to celebrate the tenth anniversary of the TV series. Madara assaults the Leaf Village with a finite tsukuyomi, the ocular technique that serves as a rehearsal for the infinite tsukuyomi! How will Naruto and company get out of this…?!"

Road to Ninja EVEN has its own special manga, written by Kishimoto himself and added to the 4th Naruto Databook.

It has a manga.

It has a movie that was written, supervised, and characters designed by Kishi himself.

It has episodes in the anime, and yet it's NOT CANON.

Sasuke Retsuden it is not canon just because it has a manga and anime adaptation. Stop making things up.

There's even a statement from the author of the Retsuden trilogy, saying that THE ONLY TRUTH is the original source material (manga).

In May 2015, New York Comic Con announced via Twitter that Masashi Kishimoto would be appearing at the event, something that caught the attention of fans due to his presence on the American continent.

In this interview, they mentioned him the novels:

And as you can see, he ignored the mention of the novels as part of the "Naruto manga expansion" and focused on talking about the Boruto movie, which, interestingly, IS CANON.

First of all, what is canon?

«In a story, 'canonical material' refers to content that is an official part of the universe or main narrative of that work. That is, it's everything that has been recognized by the original creators as an authentic part of the story.»

In short: what the author recognizes as an authentic part of the original material = canon.

Original material = canon.

"Oh! So that makes only the manga canon. The Last isn't canon, nor is the Boruto movie."

Kishimoto has stated MULTIPLE TIMES that The Last connects directly to the original material, even stating that it's set between chapters 699 and 700 of the manga.

Original material = Canon.

For the Boruto film (a canon film btw), an OFFICIAL timeline was released as part of the film. (Which makes that timeline show us KISHIMOTO's canon material.)

And as you can see, the Kakashi novel that had already been published is completely ignored, even though OTHER NOVELS HAD ALSO BEEN PUBLISHED XD

SUMMARY:

Just because they have a chronology doesn't make them canon.

Just because they have Kishi’s name on the cover or were illustrated by him doesn't make them canon.

Just because they were approved by him doesn't make them canon.

When they asked him about the novels, he ignored them.

They weren't added to the chronology of material that connects to the Boruto movie.

They aren't canon until Kishimoto confirms that they are, as he did with "The Last" and "The Boruto Movie."
