Day 2493, 21 April 2025
Are you Inspired? Graffiti in Catford London
Spotted in the City of London
A Nathan Bowen of a typical City professional in uniform: blue suit, white shirt and red tie. Not sure about the red shoes though
I’m rewatching Cloak and Dagger (my sister’s watching it for the first time), and everything anyone says about Tandy’s dad just hits different.
I really like that runaways and cloak and dagger have accurate portrayals of children with abusive parents
FYI: I think I just followed a ton of fellow #RichardArmitage fans on Twitter 😬😂
I am/was attempting to share this amazing piece of art I had created by Nathan Bowen! I tried like a maniac to get the John Proctor piece that hung in The Old Vic, but someone beat me. I’m still salty about that, but what can I do?
Anywho, I contacted the artist and he did one better, and created Thorin Oakenshield for me 😍😍 I’m so damn excited to have this in my office!!
Kinda thinking I need a Gandalf, a Bilbo, and maybe John Thornton and Lucas North now 😏
Andre and Tyrone share the Darkforce dimension and thus have abilities that are in some aspects very similar (Tyrone sees people’s fears and Andre feeds off people’s hopes which leads to despair). We also know that Andre recevied his powers the same day Tyrone and Tandy got theirs all those years ago.
That got me thinking about another character from the Cloak and Dagger, Nathan Bowen. Because I didn’t know a lot about Cloak and Dagger villains I did the usual Google searching and found something about Tandy’s father (Lord of Light). In the comics, Nathan develops the ability to manipulate his personal "light" in a similar way to Tandy but uses it to control people and increase his own power. Thus, in the comics, Nathan and Tandy share Lightforce powers like Tyrone and Andre share Darkforce powers in the show. So should we continue to get more seasons, could Nathan Bowen return as Lord of Light in the show? We never buried his body nor found it right?
Melissa's greatest hope being helping Tandy with her ballerina lessons alongside a kind Nathan... I completely forgot, that's so pure
Ever since the new episode of Cloak and Dagger... everything makes sense now.
Her mom being a drug/alcohol addict. Her mom getting mad/upset when Tandy said how much better her dad was than her mom. How her dad seemed so unconcerned that his daughter was standing in the rain while waiting for him. How even before he died the mom’s ‘back hurt’ but she was using. The way he was ‘forcing’ her to increase her ability to concentrate in that flashback (“leave the tv on while you practice.... If you fall you can’t play ballet anymore”). Her mom saying “I want us to be at a ballet” (instead of being at the movies.... almost like she wants to rewrite her memories... even her memories of him... so she imagines him as the man she wanted him to be and what Tandy thought he was). The mom’s obsession with the accident. How she still believed he was a “good man” (a common thing with abuse survivors). Like.... wow....... this show....
