I owe that and much more, to my most faithful companion.” She inspects your side profile, admiring every curve, every detail, every small cue in your expressions, the way your lips are struggling to not twitch upwards and how your eyes seem more fond than usual; You were never one for people, dwelling in the shadows and working behind the scenes for Natlan's success, always doing your own thing — it is truly a rare sight, that you are casting your gaze upon them so fondly. Mavuika is of the opinion that she, even as an archon, is equal to her people - but not you. You are above them as a being, and a mere glance from you is something that she believes to be a grace.

Or is she biased? Maybe. Just a bit.

Eventually, her eyes follow yours, looking down at the stadium full of celebrating citizens. “Sweet, isn't it?” She quietly ponders, voice fond, “I can only hope that you give yourself as much credit as you're owed.”

“I'm not the one that fought in the night kingdom.” She huffs, taking a few steps forward until she's standing next to you, a hand reluctantly coming up to rest on your lower back, “You've been fighting your own battle this whole time. We wouldn't know nearly as much about the abyss as we do, without you.” Mavuika turns, smiling at you from the corner of your eye and tilting her head, “That is something worth of praise, no? That, and you waited for five hundred years to see me again.”

That earns her a sideways glance, laced with a torn frown and faint traces of a smile. “That's.. not something I deserve credit for.”

“It is, in my book.”

“Respectfully, my lady, our books are very different, and I follow none but mine.”

Mavuika chuckles, eyes closing against the breeze and allowing it to cleanse her soul, down to the very depths, in every nook and cranny. She lost many things whilst trying to fight off the abyss and protect her citizens; Her family, her artifacts in the backroom, a hefty amount of lives of both citizens and animals. The land is drenched in blood and flooding, drowning both her and her eternal companion — but she hopes that it may be absorbed into the soil, and feed the seed of a new Natlan, that slowly but surely has begun to peak above ground, to flourish. Much like phoenixes rise from their ashes.

As she cracks her eyes open, red eyelashes fluttering, Mavuika thinks that maybe, her companion ultimately embodies Natlan; After all, what more can you expect from a flameborne divine being? You fall, you are defeated, and then you rise to the occasion once more — a circle she's witnessed you repeat countless times. Though, she loathes that she wasn't there to see it, or even support you, for five hundred years.

It was all worth it, to see you extending your hand towards her at the farthest point of the road, a tender smile on your face and welcoming her home. Almost knocked her off her bike, the way her legs got tangled while trying to get off her bike because she was too distracted looking at you, how you seemed brighter than the scorching sun ahead, brighter than any flame.

What snaps her out of her thoughts — apart from slowly trailing off and returning to reality steadily — is the feeling of eyes on her, the fond sort of gaze, only to turn to the side and see you casting your eyes on her this time, rather than the citizens in the stadium. She almost swears she can see something different there, heartbeat picking up in her chest.

“Is anything troubling you, my lady?” She knows you're trying to not sound concerned; You sound almost strained. But that seems to disappear when she smiles, hand patting your lower back and guiding you a bit closer as she shakes her head lightly, “Not at all. Doing some reminiscing, is all.”

Her words etch a frown on your face. “What about?”

“Nothing,” she chuckles, smile growing fonder and yet calmer, “The past, how far we've come. I believe I deserve a moment to glance at the past- If you will allow me, of course, in all your wisdom.”

You had always warned her to not look at the past, ever; Lest she falters. While you're certain that she didn't always heed your advice, she seemed to try her best — so, for once, you'll allow it, closing your eyes and taking a step closer to her side, humming under your breath.

“..Fine. Just this once.”

while xilonen is more of a laid back individual, she has so much fun with her nieces and nephews!

✧ oh, christmas and gift-giving holidays is so creative when she's around! because of her experience in forgery, she always comes up with the coolest ideas for gifts. her niece once received a pair of roller skates to look exactly like hers!

✧ when it's time for the kiddos to hangout with their auntie, she's truly excited. she takes much pleasure in spoiling them, whether it's in gifts or sweets...

✧ you scold her many times for your kids coming back home with tummy aches, but she just says it was all part of the fun the day gave. honestly, they don't get to see auntie that often, only when you need some time to yourself or have a big commitment to attend to. so it makes the day special, in her opinion.

✧ her bonding experiences with the kids are trying to teach them how to forge small things. not stuff like what she does, but simple little things. starting small, as she told you one day when you came to pick up the kids, confused as to why she's letting them deal with hammers.

✧ she's not dumb, she understands the risk, but she also believes that they should have a little moment of independence. she claims that starting young can make for a great outcome, and you couldn't help but agree. maybe it's not so bad that they have a bit of past experiences in different potential professions under their belts..

✧ when you guys get to hang out, it's always talk about your children, and some catching up on what's been happening on her side. with everything going on in natlan, she hasn't been necessarily available to hangout with the kids, but she writes each a personalized note telling them that she'll tell stories about her travels and adventures. it leaves your kids desparately waiting for the next hangout with their auntie!

✧ when they get a bit older, she'll make sure it's okay with you before telling them some of the truths about natlan. she doesn't think they should stay oblivious to their region forever, and she'd rather them find out in a gentle way versus experiencing it without any warning.

✧ i kinda see her being one of those super cool aunties. very laid-back, as for her personality. your kids can pretty much get away with anything in their teenage years when they're hanging out with her.

✧ obviously, no doing anything that can get them behind bars, but she's not going to helicopter over them 24/7 when they're under her care.

✧ if you raise a girly girl, i could see xilonen enjoying doing her makeup and helping her shop for trendy clothes. the things xilonen herself wears is very trendy anyways, so you can trust her tastes. sometimes the options may be too revealing, but the options are cute, nonetheless.

✧ if you raise a boy, then xilonen will still love him the very same as she'd love the girl, but she finds it a bit more challenging to bond with him. if he's interested in forgery, perfect! that's an activity right there! but if he isn't, she's kinda lost...

overall a great aunty! the kids love her, you enjoy letting them hangout with her, and she loves the kids. overall, 8/10!
