𐒘𝛠 ── ʚ♡ɞฺ to count. 2.5k ── characters: wanderer, kinich
< part one here with itto & xiao ; part two (you're here) ; part three if requested >
ꫂ᭪݁ wanderer is unfortunately the kind to 'accidentally' just be staring off into your cleavage. yes he does get a little flustered when you call him out, but in the end doesn't really care if your chest is big or not, as long as he can rest on you, you're good.
is also the type of guy to be like 'wear whatever you want, i can fight'. is both your number one hype man and your stylist. tells you if it looks flattering or not, yes he has that much confidence in his strength.
obviously when someone actually thinks they can catcall you without a punch in the balls, they're very wrong, obviously. he's not gonna let just anybody try to outwardly admire what's his... like hello. get your own.
definitely gets teased about falling onto you because it happened one time pre-relationship. you say you found it funny and cute, he says its embarrassing.
ꫂ᭪݁ kinich is surprisingly pretty nonchalant about it. i mean, yeah duh you have a crazy chest but he doesn't make a big deal out of it, it's not like he fell for your body. but don't get him wrong, that doesn't mean he doesn't appreciate the view.
similarly to wanderer, he actually doesn't mind if you wear anything flashy. as long as people know you two are together, it's enough for him.
mualani questions how you fell for him and he just shrugs, which makes you laugh. "oh so it's one of these..." - "what?" - "he makes you laugh doesn't he.
premise: kinich wasn't a sentimental person at heart, until you left to travel. neither was he easily upset, but here he was, undoubtedly upset that you didn't give him a gift with your recent package.
— warnings: ooc-kinich and ajaw (still havent done the new aq), he's a bit down bad, and misses you dearly.

“delivery for kinich!” a mail man shouted, trying his best to not look down over the ledge the scions of the canopy is held. “delivery for ki—”
“i heard ya!” the small dragon yells, taking the sealed letter and small box from the man’s hands and throws a pouch of mora as thanks.
the man sweat drops at the comical sight of the tiny dragonlord floating up to where kinich was. said man was dangling his legs over the ledge, hair swaying with the wind and an indifferent look on his face as he swats away his small companion and roughly takes the letter in his hands. he could only assume that the two had started another argument once again.
with a sigh, he cups a hand to his mouth and shouts, “thank you for your patronage!”
kinich looked in his direction and gave him a small nod. there were few postal workers here in natlan, so he made sure to at least pay the man generously—especially with how his legs shake and hand clutch the side of the mountain for dear life.
ajaw continued to punch and tug at his head but his attention had zeroed in on the envelope. it felt heavier than the last and you had sent a small package with it. ‘for my dearest, kinich & almighty dragon lord, ajaw.’ the small note said with your signature right below it as well as a wax seal at the corner. your penmanship makes kinich smile and before ajaw can open his mouth, he takes the grapple on his waist and zips away to find a secluded place to open your gifts. they were sacred to him and therefore had to be treated with utmost care.
when he lands on teticpac peak, he sits down by one of the rocks and gently peels away the seal. kinich makes a mental note to stop by a market to get a new container for all your letters, after all, his bedside drawer can only hold so much of you over the years.
‘to my dearest, kinich,’
with just four words, you had him smiling like a fool. one hand propped behind his back to support his weight as he leisurely soaks in your stories like a sponge. ajaw sits by his shoulder, impatiently demanding him to open the box that came along with your letter. kinich was not even half way with reading before he relented—you always had a knack for making pages and pages of stories, but he didn’t mind. you have been away for nearly 7 years now and send only a letter or two every few years. kinich learned to appreciate the pages of your love every time they arrive.
“hurry up!” ajaw demanded, waiting with bated breath as kinich opened the box. “learn to be patient, ajaw.”
the dragon only huffed and turned around but it didn’t take long before he dove head first into the array of gifts. while his little companion drowned in material luxuries, kinich took out items in piles and made a mental note to give them to their respective owners.
kinich tucked the small pouch with xilonen’s name along with your letter for her at his side. he will deliver these to her first, he concludes. as he’s sifting through the items, kinich catches a glimpse of ajaw sitting on a toy fox’s head with a small note with kachina’s name. the final item that seemed important was a small box containing colorful seashells with mualani’s name on it.
his brows furrowed in confusion as he sets all the gifts down carefully and sifts through the package one more time. and again, and again, until his lower back felt sore. ajaw noticed his antsy behavior and decided to look at what all the fuss was about. kinich sat down, head lowered with his bangs covering his eyes—ajaw was beginning to worry (but he would rather die than verbally admit it).
“hey!” ajaw turned to kinich who had stiffly stood up. clutching at your letter as the sliver of expectancy in his eyes dimmed. “don't tell me they actually forgot about you?”
“let’s go back,” he says with a subtly sullen voice. “we have to deliver these to the others.”
ajaw makes no further comment and sits on his shoulder as they zip from one place to another. he doesn’t point out the way kinich’s eyes looked duller and the way a frown tugged at his lips—he was upset.
“hmph! i'll be sure to show them a piece of my mind when they get back!" the dragon complains to him as they arrive back home. kinich beelined his way back to his residence, a bit more aggressive than he normally would.
he doesn’t want to admit that he was upset—it was stupid. so what if you didn’t get him a gift after not hearing from you for almost a year? but how come everyone else had one? hell even citlani and mavuika received one, so why didn’t he?
with a click of his tongue he pushed past all the people in his way, muttering half hearted apologies here and there as ajaw kept calling his name. kinich was not upset nor was he disappointed—he wasn’t a child chasing after the trail of gold you left behind anymore. he was an adult now, someone people look up to and admire. kinich was no longer the shy kid that always wondered if he could ever chase after you.
“kinich!”
with the shout of his name, he was taken back to memory lane. how you would call to him from the ground, a pair of wheels at your feet as you glided through the rocky terrain as if it were made of ice. the smile you flash him as you point to your finish line makes his heart skip a few beats, rendering him only to reply in a nod because his mind has turned into a mushy puddle.
“kinich!”
you have always been golden in his eyes. smiles bright like the sun, kindness gentle like its morning rays, and hypnotizing in the starry trail you leave behind. kinich remembers the first time he tried his hands on rollerblades. he felt unwittingly afraid of standing on his own two feet, the possibility of his world turning upside down with one single step scared him. but you were always there to ward away his fears. it wasn’t long before he took them off and said with a dead expression that he will never try them again. the laugh that he managed to steal from your lungs made all his suffering worth it.
“kinich!”
he doesn’t like letting things go, not when you’ve taught him how to cherish every little thing. but he’d hate himself if he kept you from your dreams. so there he was, all those years ago, standing by natlan’s borders, unable to say goodbye as the rest bid theirs. you had to make him face you—gently cupping his jaw with both hands and flashing a small smile, giving him a tempting offer.
“let me stay,” you said. you were willing to give up your dreams if it meant making him happy. kinich didn’t want his happiness, he wanted yours.
“leave,” he said bluntly. it made you laugh because it sounded incredibly rude, but the way he held your hand in his shaking hold, lip bitten until it almost bled, everyone knew he was struggling the most.
“i’ll give you souvenirs,” you offered as consultation and it took every willpower he had to say he only wanted you.
“i’ll keep them safe.” he replied and you smiled.
“kinich!”
urging you to travel has been the best and worst decision in his life—you were enjoying your life but he was stuck missing you. his longing for the sun in his life greatly outweighed his happiness for you. how can he be happy when happiness is spelled with your name? the way you smile, and the way you leave a golden trail?
“kinich.”
“ajaw, enou—” his sentence was cut off when he turned to look at the smiling faces of his tribe. brows furrowed in confusion as he searched the crowd for a certain green dragon, but all his eyes could see was gold.
the wind in his lungs was stolen as the images of smiling faces turn to fade, his attention solely on you in the distance, ajaw by your side as you both waved him over. as fast as the winds could take him, kinich ran straight in your arms—his home. your laugh ringed like morning birds and your hands felt warm like the afternoon heat. you were home; you were his gift.
“pasalubong, for kinich,” you say with a teasing lilt to your voice.
“pasalubong?” he repeats, hands coming to cradle your smiling face. “what does that mean?”
you smile wider and hold his hands with your own. “it means gifts given by homecomers. but,” you tuck away a stray piece of his hair behind his ear as you tempt him in another embrace. “it can also mean ‘to meet again.’”
kinich laughed—airy and bright, like the setting sun. this was so you, he thought, burying his head in your neck. trying to make up for all the lost physical contact he had missed.
“thank you for the gift.” he said with a smile.
you pat him on the back and hummed in delight. “i came back just for you.”
“i’m honered,” he jests and takes a step back, not letting your hand go. “you should be! the trip back home is nothing short of tedious!”
he chuckles because kinich knows he’s a goner. no need for xilonen’s amused teasing, mualani’s persistence and kachina’s curiosity. everyone in his tribe and maybe even natlan knew, kinich would wait for you knowing you’ll eventually come home to him.
his voice soften when he talks to you - sae (bllk), rayne (mashle), levi (snk), kinich, al haitham (genshin)
m.list | rules
Sae, even though he hates it, has to spend a scandalous amount of time with a ton of people for his career. He's always asked everywhere, he's probably the definition of busy if you ask his manager, but also the most idgaf person he's ever seen. That until you're in the room, and you need something – anything, that he can figure out for you or help you with. His manager never gets used to the way his voice softens, calling out your name like it's coated with honey, asking you if you need anything or if you're okay. It's subtle, not a lot would notice, but if you got the chance to talk with Sae more than once, you'll notice it. It's caring, gentle, sometimes in the rush to make sure you're fine, but always with gentle eyes following your silhouette or shadow around.
Rayne can appear a lot less caring than he actually is, even regarding his own brother if you don't know them enough. He's serious, seeking the best for himself, not there to make friends. And yet those who get the chance to meet him at the same time as you do are surprised to hear how he talks to you. It's informal, there's some kind of fondness in his voice that nobody else gets to feel for themselves. If you ask them, they'll probably tell you don't even seem to notice when everybody else does by the way you never seem frustrated. But how could you when that's your norm with him ? His voice is so sweet when he tells you to be careful with your power, pushing a stand of hair for your face. Or even when he assures you he'll make time to help you study. To you, he's the sweetest person who ever stepped on earth.
Levi rarely shows any sign of affection ever, to anyone, even his closest friends. You just have to know he appreciates you to not get offended, or really notice how his voice changes – and he doesn't appreciate a lot of people. So maybe you never noticed how his voice is less harsh with you, how his words yearn a bit after he finishes his sentences, how his eyes look at you for a second too long ; but Hange never misses it. The way you don't seem to pay it any mind, even the way it doesn't seem to affect him even if he'll always call your name a little sweeter than any other. Hange never even imagined mentioning it, but they'll for sure keep a close eye on it.
Kinich can be a little straightforward but that doesn't mean he's mean or arsh – at least that's never what he has in mind, that's what Mualani concluded. Even with all of that, she couldn't help but giggles at the way his voice softens when he talks to you. He never raises his voice but also puts a lot more life into it, lingering with his words and his eyes instinctively searching for your approval or at least an answer. He never screams when he calls your name, even when he's worried or even scared for your safety. His lips move upward into a small smile every time he gets to talk to you and she definitely hopes you noticed how the man fell for you.
It's not only in the way Al Haitham talks to you that makes people notices the proximity, but mostly the time he can take off for you. He can be really busy, or it can be outside his work hours and yet he's always there to answer or help you, cutting what he's doing to do so with the softest voice his co-worker ever heard from him. He won't roll his eyes, raise his voice or sigh during the conversation, never. He'll always make sure that you leave with everything you need in hands and mind, so he'll take some extra time, explaining you softly, with gentle gestures, careful as if he was around a bird.
The crude amazing K'uhul Ajaw takes a liking to one of Kinich's closest friends, which so happens to be someone that makes the words catch in his throat and keep his heart racing... Mualani tells him that hes harboring feelings for said friend; however, any time Kinich tries to engage, his pesky 8-bit dragon chimes in and steals the spotlight.

"Finally! My most favored mortal has arrived!" The blaring voice of none other than Ajaw floods your ears as you spot him and his human companion just up ahead on the path. He tends to be quite rude and loud at times, but you've found that you've taken a liking to the little guy. Sure, he's temperamental and obnoxious at times, but he can be pretty cute!
The sun was blazing today, so finding them under the canopy of a large tree resting against the bark was exactly where you hoped you'd find them. The dragon excitedly bolts over towards you, his little hands thrashing in the air while he starts complaining, interrupting your greeting. "Why do you always leave me here with stupid Kinich all the time?! I declare that you will accompany me when that sorry excuse for a human banishes me to timeout!" You gently push the angry Ajaw out of your face while nodding along and pretending to agree. "Okay, Ajaw, I'm sure that will work out just fine." Then, you turn your attention to your friend, who sighs at the sight of him being so obnoxious. "Hey, Kinich." You wave as you stand in the shade of the tree, finding relief from the scorching sun. He offers a small wave, his typical reserved personality showing rather strongly today.
"Is that Quenepa Berries I see?!" Before you can even sit down with Kinich, Ajaw starts yelling about the small pouch of berries held in your hand. "Oh, yes—there was a patch of some on my way here." Ajaw floats around you, similarly to how cats rub and weave between people's legs. Kinich would've sent him away long ago for being so noisy, but he knows how much you actually like Ajaw and how much he favors you— it's a little ironic.
"Pipe down, Ajaw," Kinich annoyingly grumbles. Before either of them could start bickering with each other like they usually do, you open the pouch and show Ajaw the blue treasures inside. "For you, Allmightly Dragon Lord, K'uhul Ajaw." Playfully, you offer him the berries as he laughs and yells in excitement, digging into the pouch and munching on the berries.
Kinich has always taken notice of your kindness towards Ajaw and himself. You seem to always have something on hand to help 'babysit' the saurian— whether it be his favorite snacks like today, taking him out away from the group to cause some mischief (helping him let off some steam without actually causing any harm), or letting him snuggle in your arms and fall asleep peacefully. At first, he didn't know if you treated Ajaw this way because you pitied Kinich having to deal with him, or if you actually liked the little dragon. Eventually, he realized that you and Ajaw get along surprisingly well. He seems to have taken a liking to you, perhaps because of your gifts, or maybe cause you have a mischievous side...
Kinich watched as you settled onto the ground next to him, a bit closer than he expected. "How'd your commission go earlier?" Right, you were to meet him here after his commission was over, so he could split the costs with you. The commission involved something you're well-versed in, and after coaching him on parts of it and giving him vital information that effectively secured this commission for him, he promised to split part of it with you.
"It went fine, thanks to you." His prismatic eyes flick up to yours, only having enough courage to look in your eyes for a few seconds before he casts his gaze into the evening sky. "Oh, stop— I'm sure you would've handled it fine without me." You smile and laugh, leaning up against the bark.
As that unfamiliar and almost nauseating feeling builds in his chest, he remembers what Mualani had said. 'Looks like someone has a crrrushhhh!' Though embarrassing to think about, perhaps she was right. He can't even bear to look you in the eyes for long, hell, even you sitting with your shoulders almost touching is enough to send his heart thumping in his chest like hes in war. Maybe he should follow her advice and start with compliments; it would show some of his affection for you while also not being direct and blowing his cover...
"...You look—"
"I demand MORE quenepa berries! Where's the rest of them?! My least hated servant, bring me more!" Ajaw interrupted Kinich from even starting his sentence, and part of him was thankful it happened. The two of you turn your heads over to the noise pollution machine, watching how he scurries around and loudly demands more.
"Hey, you should be grateful! I stopped to get those just for you— and now you're complaining?" You scold the little saurian in hopes that maybe he will shut up, but it only seems to piss him off even more. "How dare you assume that measly portion of quenepa berries is enough for I, the Almighty Dragonlord K'uhul Ajaw!!!"
Kinich sighs, looking a more beat down than usual. You point to Ajaw, and then the ground next to you. "Ajaw! Sit your ass down! You know Kinich will put you in timeout if you keep acting like that!" The 8-bit dragon grumbles, mubbling about the things he would do if he weren't stuck in his tiny form. Finally, you look back over at Kinich. "Sorry, what were you saying?"
"Oh, I was saying we should start counting costs..." He takes the bag of mora he received after finishing the commission, setting it between you two. He hoped you didn't notice his slip-up there....
So, you and Kinich begin to count up and split the mora. There was haggling of prices and rates, debates on how much you actually deserve, and jokes about him being stingy and you being greedy. It was all in good faith with no real argument, just banter between you two. Ajaw went on a mini exploration while you were busy, as he couldn't demand your attention and pester you for more snacks. You weren't entirely sure where he went, but he wouldn't go very far— and, if something were to happen, Kinich would surely notice.
After a lengthy debate about splitting the mora and counting it, your share was agreed on and placed in a separate pouch for safekeeping. Kinich handled the mora, pouring the coins into the scrappy pouch. As hes handing it to you, your fingers brush against the palm of his gloved hand. It's barely enough contact to feel, and Kinich wants to scold himself for getting so tripped up over such a simple touch.
"Thanks! I guess your transactional way of life actually does have some benefits for me." You smile with a laugh, storing the mora away. Kinich gives you the faintest smile, one you cherish deeply for how rare it is. You knew everything that happened to him in his past, and you knew how closed off and shut down he could get at times, though it's never bothered you. You could count the number of times hes opened up to you and smiled on one hand. Ah, you're getting off track... now's not the time to be thinking about how rare his sweet smile is.
"Transactional lifestyle?" He repeats, amused. "I just work as efficiently as I can." Crossing his arms, he leans back against the bark of the tree. "Not sure how familiar you are with efficiency, you're almost always late, even today."
"I was not..." You huff, even though you knew he was right. Time had slipped from you earlier in the day, and you happened to run a bit behind schedule. "Work kept me a bit later than normal today, that's not my fault."
"So you do admit you were late?" Another rare smile fills his features, his lips unturned as his phlogiston colored eyes seek amusement in your rowdy response. You groan, crossing your arms— almost mirroring him. "Y'know, I think Ajaws rubbing off on you. You've had such snarky remarks lately."
He wonders if these "snarky remarks" are a subconscious response to the flurry of feelings he gets when you get just a tad too close to him, or when you bring him up in conversations with mutual friends, even when your eyes catch, he feels like his lungs got punched. He hopes you aren't taking it personally, or is he overthinking it now?
Kinich gives a short hum in response, sneaking looks at you in his peripheral vision. The banter was over, leaving a comfortable but, albeit, too quiet a silence. Perhaps this is his chance to man up and tell you that he thinks you're beautiful, or smart, or maybe he'll say something about how talented you are. He holds his breath before he parts his lips, afraid the air in his lungs will be forced out in jumbles instead of coherent words.
"You, um... you're really—"
Your eyes flick over to Kinich, who fails to hold eye contact. Before you can hear anything else, a loud, screeching yell erupts in the distance. You both divert your attention, becoming alert as you realize that scream came from none other than K'uhul Ajaw. Kinich quickly stands as he hears the yelling getting louder, taking a few steps away from the tree into the small clearing to hopefully get eyes on him. "Ajaw!?" You both question, rather shout, as a somewhat bad feeling settles over you. He could either be screaming over something dumb, which happens more often than you'd think, or over an actual issue. You can't shake the feeling that you and Kinich may need to intervene, but that all subsides as the little dragon soars through the air at record speed and crashes right into your body, all while screaming.
"Ahhh! HELP me! The yumkasaurs— they want to eat me!" Ajaw tries to hide in your arms, thrashing and wriggling about. Relief crashes over both you and Kinich, sighing as you coddle the saurian in your arms. "They can't eat you, Ajaw..." You murmur, feeling a little bad for him. He cuddles into your chest as Kinich staunters over, placing his hands on his hips as he looks down at you sitting against the tree with Ajaw tucked into your arms. "No! No! You HAVE to believe me!" His outburst continues...
Glancing up at Kinich with a mixed expression, he stares at you for a long time. He can tell you pity the saurian, but he can also see the amusement and relief written all over your face. That feeling bubbles in his stomach again. Seeing you cuddle Ajaw and comfort the poor thing makes him feel a twinge of jealousy, along with a heavy dose of affection for how caring you are. He sighs, having to forcibly rip his gaze off you as he sits down where he was before.
"I suggest you behave yourself." His tone carries aggravation. You lift your knees up and wrap your arms around Ajaw, keeping him safely snuggled up. "This is why I didn't run to YOU. 'Cause all you do is scold me! I'm not a little kid!" Ajaw huffs and puffs. So much anger stuck in such a little body. The hunter's eyes narrow at his words, crossing his arms and deciding to not engage.
Things eventually settled down, with Ajaw dozing off and Kinich quietly resting his eyes. You look down at the saurian. He had finally calmed down from his outburst, now resting against you as he started to fall asleep. He was awfully cute, especially in this state. Making an effort to pet his head without waking him proved to be more difficult than you'd like. He shifted a little, mumbling something about an almighty dragon lord. You chuckled to yourself, which caught your companions' attention.
"Ajaw really likes you." He states, his voice low in fear of breaking the calming atmosphere. You glance up again, successfully meeting his gaze this time. He has that smile again— it's so faint you'd only notice if you were looking for it. "Hes pretty cute when hes not demanding things." You glance back down at the sleeping dragon lord, stroking his head akin to how someone would with a cat. Kinich falls silent again, the peaceful air and soft breeze make you a little sleepy yourself.
"Did I ever tell you that you look... really pretty today...?" Kinich's words are strung together with a few awkward hesitations. He's never been outwardly affectionate to others; the words almost didn't form with how unsure he is. With the words hes been trying to say finally out, his shoulders relax as he sighs quietly.
Your eyes widen in surprise. Is this really the Malipo Kinich you're talking to? Malipo Kinich complementing you? Not just a casual praise for good work, but a full-fledged compliment— about how you're pretty? You freeze for a beat too long, and hes already regretting his choice. He should shut down all these addictive feelings he has for you and pretend this never even happened. Hes already convincing himself that he isn't attracted to you in any way, shape, or form.
"Is that what you've been trying to say all day?" You chuckle, giddily smiling at him as he stares back at you with more emotion than you've seen all day. His eyes are wide, and his cheeks have become flushed. He stares for a long moment, taking in the way your cheeks and ears turned warm and pink from his words. With a huff, he turns away, staring at the grassy ground as he hears another warm laugh radiate from you.
"Oh-hoho! I heard that Kinich! You think your feeble attempts at courting my least hated servant would go unheard by me? Oh, I'm ONTO you Kinich... you're SO done..."
"Traveler, I heard you need my assistance? Hmm? No? Then what did Mualani mean when she said that you had something 'urgent' to discuss with me? Let's not waste any more time; tell me what troubles you seek to overcome. A partner...? You're asking me if I have a partner? Sigh, is this what you're referring to as 'urgent'? I thought I was needed to resolve some conflict or do troubling tasks, but not this. Yes, I do have a partner. I didn't tend to hide my relationship from you; I just don't like sharing personal details unless necessary. If that's anything, I am heading back to my tribe to attend to personal matters. Farewell, Traveler."
II. ABOUT AJAW
"Ajaw has a loud mouth and no sense of restraint. Calling them an 'annoying dog,' of all things… tch. He forgets his place sometimes. My partner isn’t some nuisance clinging to me—they’re the reason I stand steadier than I used to. Ajaw should be grateful they even acknowledge him at all. If he keeps running that mouth of his, I’ll personally see to it he spends the next week on strict timeout. Let’s see how smug he is then."
III. UNFAIR BIAS
"Some have complained that I’m unfair when it comes to bargaining prices. They say I lower my rates too easily whenever it involves my partner. Hah. And? Let them talk. Why should I haggle with the one person whose happiness matters more than coin or custom? If that makes me biased, then so be it. I’ll take their complaints over seeing my partner want for anything."
IV. CHAT: TEASINGLY ANNOYING
Ajaw: "Heeey, Kinich~! Don’t tell me you’re running off to see them again. Hah! You’re like a puppy that follows their every step—do you even know how ridiculous you look?"
Kinich: "…Say what you like. Your words don’t change anything. At the end of the day, they’re still mine—and no amount of barking from you will change that."
Ajaw: "Tch—! H-hey, I wasn’t barking! You—ugh, forget it!"
V. CHAT: YOUR ABSENCE
"Hm… strange. I used to think silence was my only comfort. Yet now, even in the quiet, I catch myself listening for their voice… Tch. They’ve changed me more than I’d like to admit."
VI. SEEKING ADVICE
"I’m not the type to ask for guidance, but lately… I’ve found myself doing just that. Mualani told me to be more vocal with affection—though she phrased it like I was some unfeeling rock. Chasca suggested gifts, though knowing her, she meant something extravagant. And Mavuika… well, her advice was to burn brighter, to let my passion show. Hmph. I suppose everyone has their own way of saying the same thing. Not that I’ll admit to them they were… helpful."
VII. JEALOUSY
"Traveler, you may have noticed—I don’t mind when others speak to my partner, laugh with them, or even linger a little too long in conversation. Hm? Why? Because I know, without question, where their heart rests. Still… there are limits. A smile, a word, I can tolerate. But should anyone forget their place and reach beyond what is theirs to take—well… let’s just say I would be quick to remind them. Passivity does not mean indifference."
VIII. PROTECTIVENESS
"Hmm… Two thieves, one carrying a rusty blade, the other carrying a crossbow. He's misaligning his shot at the target, the target in question being my partner, at that. Amateurs… I'll make this quick and unpleasant for them."
IX. SHOWING AFFECTION
"Isn't being present with your partner sufficient? …What? It's not enough to prove you love them? Then what do you suggest, Traveler? Show them physical touch? I'm not exactly a 'touchy' person as they are, but I suppose a gentle embrace or a kiss on the forehead wouldn't hurt. Words of affirmation… Hmm, I've often praised them; surely they know how much I appreciate them. Not that too? I have to say… 'I love you' to them, even when it's not something I'm used to? Fine, if it's necessary to make them feel loved, I'll give it a try. But don't expect me to do it all the time."
X. TRYING OUT NEW DESTINATIONS
"After the war, every citizen of Natlan is free from the shackles of the Wayob and allowed to explore a world so different from ours. My partner was excited to explore each nation, already packing up before I could even retort, but I simply told them to pick just one destination for now. They want to visit Fontaine first, since they heard that the citizens there wore elegant clothing and had a passion for the arts. Of course, I don't have the heart to refuse their interests…"
a/n: hi guys this has been in my drafts for forever (a few months) and i finally ended up finishing it today! i hope it's ok and makes sense😓😓

you and Kinich were hanging out in his room, playing minecraft together. he was at his desk, in his gaming chair, and you were sitting on his bed, nice and comfy with your laptop on your lap.
"hey Kiniiich?"
from your tone, he immediately knows you have something in mind.
"..yes?" he asks cautiously.
"can you come here please?" you lean over to set your laptop on the nightstand, then sit back down on his bed.
"hm?" he turns around in his chair to look at you, and finds you smiling and patting the space in front of you, inviting him over. he sees the devious little grin on your face and raises an eyebrow at you, waiting to see if you'll tell him what you're up to.
"i wanna test this new lipstick on you," you grin at him.
"uh.. what?"
"come on!"
"..."
"please Kinich?"
"...fine."
he gets up and walks over, joining you on his bed and sitting cross legged across from you.
you crawl over to straddle him and he looks skeptical about it, but his hands still find their way to your waist.
you pulled out the lipstick from your pocket, and applied a new layer.
then you gently cup his face with both your hands, and press a gentle kiss to his cheek. then a few more. he quickly relaxes in your hold as you continue leaving cute pink marks all over his face. you do one cheek, then the other. then you press a few more kisses to his forehead, then nose, then chin. you press one last kiss to the tip of his nose before leaning back to admire your hard work, giggling softly at your boyfriend.
"how's it look?" he asks, looking up at you, trying to hide how very clearly amused he is.
"i think... it’s missing something."
"..like what?" he asks, sounding kinda skeptical.
"hmm.. take your shirt off and lie down for me?"
"what does that have to do with anything??"
you don't answer. instead, you bring your hands down to the edge of his black t-shirt and start to lift it. he complies, lifting his arms to let you take it off.
after tossing his shirt to the edge of his bed, you place a hand against his sternum and gently push him back. he follows along and lies down against the comfy mess of blankets and pillows.
you pick your lipstick back up from the mess of blankets, and apply another layer.
Kinich's hands find their way to your knees, and slide up to rest on your thighs while he watches you quickly apply another layer of lipstick.
then you lean down, and start by pressing your lips right beneath his ear. you leave a trail of kisses down his neck, then to his shoulder. then you lean over to press a few kisses to his left bicep, then down the rest of his arm. then you lean to the other side to do the same for his other arm.
after you finish with his arms, you center yourself again to press a few to his collarbone. you take your time as you press a few to his chest, then slowly start to make your way down further.
Kinich carefully laces his hands in your hair, and his exhales become breathier as you trace his abs with your fingertips and continue to leave a path of kisses down his torso.
you make your way down his v-line, smirking against his skin as you purposely brush your fingers over the slight bulge in his sweats.
once your lips meet the waistband of his pants, you sit back up to appreciate your hard work.
"you're so pretty, Kinich," you giggle as you admire him, and all the pink lip-shaped marks decorating his face and body.
"mhm... but i think you might have missed a spot, princess," he chuckles softly.
"what do you mean?" you look at him, confused. there wasn't a single exposed body part of his that your lips hadn't touched yet.
he just grins up at you and points to his lips.
oh! how could you forget?
you adjust your position so you can reach his lips. then you close your eyes and lean in. you can feel him smile against your lips, and his hands start to rub small circles into your waist.
when you pull away for a proper breath of air and sit back, you can feel him pressing up against you.
۶۟ৎ a warm, lazy day with kinich.
— like 455 words! reader called silly girl and said to have hair long enough to fall like a curtain! xilonen mentioned v briefly. unedited. for my beloved vy happy birthday <33
The sun is surprisingly gentle today, filtering through the canopies overhead and leaving dapples of light over Kinich’s tanned skin—enough that he looks golden where it diffuses over him. His breathing is steady under you, synced perfectly with the gentle way his right hand’s fingers trace up and down your spine while his left arm keeps you tucked against him.
It’s his favorite way to rest, with you close and safe (and, more importantly, though he’ll never name it, slotted against him like the space in between his ribs and the dip of his waist was carved to make room for you). It’s a lazy kind of day, the type you’d tease Xilonen for taking a nap in a tree on. But that’s exactly what you’re doing, with smooth bark whittled away from years of growth and age comfortable under you and cool, and Kinich soft and gentle when he meets your adoring gaze.
His eyes flicker to meet yours, then down to where your nail tickles against a bit of skin on his hip where his clothing has ridden up, then back up. “Comfortable?”
“Mhm,” you don’t feel much like talking, and he seems to catch on to that, only shifting his weight to turn more to face you so neither of you have to crane your necks.
He jerks a little when your touch makes the skin sting and you giggle softly. “That’s enough, silly girl.”
“Is it?”
“Yeah. Any more and I’ll have to charge.”
“You drive a hard bargain… what’s the price?”
His eyes study you, helplessly fond and too soft despite his attempts to make his expression stern. “The lowest I can go is a kiss. The interest rates will be pretty steep, though.”
You beam at him, shifting to press a palm against his chest and sit up—hair falling like a curtain that cages the two of you into a world where it is only the two of you, and a gentle breeze and warm sun, wrapped in the embrace of tree boughs and birdsong. “Sounds like something I can afford.”
Kinich swallows, gaze falling to your lips. “You must be quite rich.”
“I am.” Wealthy, even lucky, because I have you. He seems to catch on (surely from the years he’s spent at your side, educated in every subtle twitch to your muscles), smiling as you bring a hand up to trace the lines of his face and snicker at the slight prickle of stubble on the corner of his jaw that’s grown in since the morning. “Can I make my first payment?”
“By all means.”
The gentle press of your lips to his and the sweet seal between the two of you promises forever.
