Convincing Vieve, Pt. 1
Kaseem had to admit that seeing his mother more than usual, with her more pleasant and cheerful attitude, brightened his days.
With the births of her grandchildren, something stirred within Genevieve that pushed her to work even harder at improving her relationships with him and his brother. To be just as present for them as she was for their children. After all, she always felt she had not provided them a good childhood, at least not one with a good mother.
For Kaseem specifically, she'd allowed herself to step back and let him work at his career (and life) without any snide commentary or pushing her ideas and unwanted advice on him.
She finally realized that he wasn't lazy or unwilling to work at maintaining the standards she'd set as an actor/entertainer... he simply had ideas and an ambition that didn't always match the individuals he'd worked with prior to taking his career into his own hands.
In such a short amount of time, he and Natalie had both taken the spark that had been lit by their first film together and soared far beyond what anyone had anticipated. He, in particular, wielded his star power and the advantages that came with being his mother's son and was parlaying it into something that could help an entirely new generation of actors, writers, producers, and more.
He hoped that the pride she expressed in him more often now would be strong enough to approve his latest big idea.
While the idea was nice, and Genevieve did love biopics and projects of that nature, she was not interested in one of her own. Couldn't understand why the idea even crossed her young son's mind.
Unfortunately, for her, the lone attitude Kaseem got from his late father was the inability to accept 'NO' as an answer when he had his heart and mind set on something he knew would make good money.
Even getting a couple of whacks in front of his own son wouldn't stop Kaseem from trying to convince his mother to share her life with the world.
