Queen Vieve wanted family photos, and the queen always gets what she wants.
Convincing Vieve, Pt. 1
Kaseem had to admit that seeing his mother more than usual, with her more pleasant and cheerful attitude, brightened his days.
With the births of her grandchildren, something stirred within Genevieve that pushed her to work even harder at improving her relationships with him and his brother. To be just as present for them as she was for their children. After all, she always felt she had not provided them a good childhood, at least not one with a good mother.
For Kaseem specifically, she'd allowed herself to step back and let him work at his career (and life) without any snide commentary or pushing her ideas and unwanted advice on him.
She finally realized that he wasn't lazy or unwilling to work at maintaining the standards she'd set as an actor/entertainer... he simply had ideas and an ambition that didn't always match the individuals he'd worked with prior to taking his career into his own hands.
In such a short amount of time, he and Natalie had both taken the spark that had been lit by their first film together and soared far beyond what anyone had anticipated. He, in particular, wielded his star power and the advantages that came with being his mother's son and was parlaying it into something that could help an entirely new generation of actors, writers, producers, and more.
He hoped that the pride she expressed in him more often now would be strong enough to approve his latest big idea.
While the idea was nice, and Genevieve did love biopics and projects of that nature, she was not interested in one of her own. Couldn't understand why the idea even crossed her young son's mind.
Unfortunately, for her, the lone attitude Kaseem got from his late father was the inability to accept 'NO' as an answer when he had his heart and mind set on something he knew would make good money.
Even getting a couple of whacks in front of his own son wouldn't stop Kaseem from trying to convince his mother to share her life with the world.
Just for y'all, @plotsiren @simohgi 💚

People have called you evil for years, may as well deem yourself the Mistress of ALL Evil.
Genevieve Powers as Maleficent.
Played around in CAS, because as always my mind has given me another idea.
So,
Meet Nehemiah Powers III.
Husband of Genevieve Powers
Father of Giselle (stillborn), Carter, and Kaseem Powers.
also the father of 6 other children by 2 other women whose identities all remain hidden out of 'respect' for Genevieve.
and here we have a young Genevieve (about 21 here), married but sometimes still going by her maiden name because "was it even worth marrying this fucker?"
Plans In Motion.
Genevieve hadn't realized how much Kaseem was utilizing the time she insisted he and Natalie take for themselves whenever she watched Khiry. I'll rest soon, Mother. But he showed no signs of slowing down as his mind teemed with idea after idea.
Though they didn't need as much help, she tried her best to be fair in how much time she spent with both Khiry and Carleigh. Especially since she tended to have Carleigh more while Carter worked and a still hateful Nina was completely out of the picture following the finalization of her and Carter's divorce.
She couldn't help but be impressed in the way her baby boy moved about bringing his vision to life. As she listened to his plans for the small studio he'd purchased, she found herself growing emotional. Short images of herself running around this very lot at the beginning of her career, and the spirit and attitude of someone so beloved moving through her child.
After their walk around the lot and a deeper discussion of what Kaseem had planned for the future, they met up with a few of the individuals he hoped to bring onto the project. Tenielle's brother, who was a very talented musician and producer. Blu Beatz, an artist Natalie had discovered while working on a project about a year prior. And Brooklynn Mulligan, a talented actress that he'd spotted while sitting in on a random sitcom taping.
Before he allows the main stars of Del Sol Valley to have their shot, he wanted to meet every underrated, unseen, and relatively new person possible. He'd, of course, take his mother's ideas into deep consideration. Including the idea that he may have to bring in other family members after all for a few small roles. Parts that would probably feel insignificant to him, but individuals that likely played a big part in Genvieve's life. Whether he liked it or not, there weren't many who could even be viewed as a Powers' doppelganger. Those genes were strong, unmistakable, and they were indeed within the distant cousins and half-siblings he'd actively ignore when out in the audition circuit simply because he hadn't grown up associating with them.
The most interesting casting, he felt, was going to be the man he was named after. From the gentle, loving way his mother spoke (and the look in her eyes when she couldn't speak her thoughts), he knew that was going to be the most important role of all outside of Genevieve. He did not remember this uncle, though Genevieve said he was around, and this puzzled him.
There was a sadness in her eyes as she reminisced, love and reverence that he'd only seen her hold for one other person. He realized immediately; anybody could play his father and grandfather. They were simply background. Genevieve probably wouldn't put up much of a fuss over who played her, as long as they got her attitude right. But the roles of his great-grandfather and this specific uncle would make or break a great deal of things.
It was going to be tough, but some great work lied ahead and Kaseem was beyond excited.
** Blu Beatz & Brooklynn join us from @simohgi's universe. Blu and T-Mo get along great.😊
** T-Mo is my sim, from a different series (where he and his sister aren't even born yet, lol, but I have his life already mapped out so I thought I'd drop him into the future for a bit since I've been sharing his sister in the Powers world.)
Convincing Vieve, Pt. 2
It only took Kaseem 4 days, 12 hours, 36 minutes, and 10 seconds to convince his mother to greenlight and give her full approval for a project based on her life.
Per Genevieve's conditions, Kaseem is not allowed to discuss the details of how he finally convinced her. It seems he too could have been a damn good lawyer, like his father, if he hadn't chosen entertainment instead.
Considering who he wanted on his side, and in his budget, Kaseem reached out to the one media maven he knew would treat this project with care and respect that would ease his mother's hesitance and concern over image.
It wouldn't have taken much to convince Tenielle to jump on board. Outside of the few associates and connections that treated her with respect, the Powers were the only celebrities that went out of their way to speak with her on red carpets and events while others turned their noses up at what they considered 'Tabloid' and 'low brow' entertainment media.
Genevieve settled with herself that this was something that was not going to leave her son's mind, so she accepted and trusted that he would do his absolute best to shine a light on her life without casting shame or judgement on her for the things he would learn along the way.
Once his mother left, with Khiry on her hip, Kaseem decided to take a few moments to relax and talk with his wife.
Just like him, Natalie had been busy with lining up more opportunities for the future. She'd finally gotten the chance to meet and talk with Octavia Bailey, and the women were determined to work together in some capacity.
Kaseem approved of the pairing, and was certain the ladies would work out something great.
And, while Kaseem worked on dinner, Natalie worked on a new song just for the fun of it.
Though she's had plenty of free time, now that she's retired, Genevieve has yet to start redecorating/remodeling the home she purchased. She simply can't be bothered with the stress of trying to find the perfect designer/decorator (especially one that doesn't want to rob her blind).
Instead, she's had her hands and heart full with caring for her precious grandbabies. Carleigh, who is now 1 and Khiry who is 9 months old.
Because her eldest son Carter is now a single father, she has Carleigh most often so that he can put more focus into pulling himself out of scandal (caused by his soon to be ex-wife) and rebranding before he opens his private law firm.
She keeps Khiry when Kaseem is working and Natalie wants a small break (which is very seldom).
When the mood strikes, Glamma Vieve takes both babies for a few days just for some extra bonding time.
Life has been especially good and kind for the diva, and she can't wait to see what comes next.
The fact that they look like their daddies, eyes and all, tickles me so much.
Khiry (Kaseem) and Carleigh (Carter). The mothers were not in the room, lol.
