Elise and Nanno grew up in the Roaring Twenties where women were expected to be so mature so fast, but at the end of the day they’re still 18 year old girls! So here’s a more modern depiction!

Do you recommend any RPG games that aren't bigoted in any way (or that don't have bigoted creators)? :3 /genq
Mine! :3 But aside from that!
Let’s see…
Fields of Mistria. Like Stardew Valley but with more of a retro twist and a little more fantasy. Diverse cast and character customization though I can not tell you much about it as I’ve not played it yet.
Don’t Look Outside. You play as a recluse right as an apocalyptic event occurs that makes it dangerous to look outside, less you be transformed into a horrific monster. Multiple endings and already completed.
Please Miss Me. A completed horror visual made by the very lovely Ariana Rose on TikTok! She makes her own music! It features a Black woman protagonist named Rebekka who is fighting an infectious illness that makes you violent. Very fun!
And a game I would say to keep your eye on is Swords of Symphony. It’s not out yet but the premise and designs seem very cool; you fight with music and rhythm and it’s made by a Black creator. I followed them back when I was still on TikTok so I know you can find them on there!
In honor of the traction Nautical Nightmares has been receiving I decided to make this piece of the illustrious Nanno herself taking center stage!
Bonus version under the cut! But thank y’all for your continued support! 💖
HAPPY PRIDE Y'ALL
I am floating on cloud nine right nowwwww
It's a great month to be Black, Queer, and Caribbean!! Y'all can't tell me shit!! I look forward to posting even more of all my beautiful Afro-Caribbean queer characters so stay tuned!!
I want to take this time to again talk about Nautical Nightmares! For those who don't know me yet, I'm a Black queer creative that made a psychological horror visual novel game called Nautical Nightmares Requiem! It's a murder mystery with a unique premise, and the prologue is out and free on itch.io right now so check it out!
Since it's Pride, I wanted to highlight the fact that my game actually features queer characters...in fact...all the characters in my game are queer! All except one! We got lesbians, we got genderqueers, we got transfems and transmascs!!! AND....
We got Asexual/Aromantic representation.
Of course, like I said, only the prologue out so far, but KNOW that when you play, these characters are in fact gay! And boy does that matter!
Anywayssss...happy pride and I hope y'all are having a great time so far! Be on the lookout for some pride art, and let's have a good month y'all!!
It’s Juneteenth now bitches!!!
If you wanna make MY day as a Black AND queer individual, consider dropping a donation in my ko-fi, or taking the time to play my game! Both links are in my pinned post!
Let’s have a good day today! 🖤💚❤️
I played Nautical Nightmares n I relly liked Nannos design. Do u have any cute/cool photos of her?
These are the photos I’m proud of the most! I spent a lot of time drawing her a certain way to really establish she’s someone stuck in the spotlight, stuck in the moment!
What made you create Nautical Nightmares? What was your inspiration for it? It looks really good and I can't wait to play it :]
Well a large bulk of my inspiration is that I wanted to see POC represented in different art styles across history, to show that we were always here and will always continue to be here. I wanted to make a game that I'd enjoy playing, with all the aesthetics and guilty pleasures that I'd have fun drawing and writing about.
I used to roleplay a lot when I was in middle school and high school (still do but I stick to my close friends haha) and I hopped through a lot of different fandoms. If I told you where this idea started it may shock you, but let's just say it went through A LOT of changes. It took a lot of work to unpack the ways roleplaying through Discord had stunted me. I was a black queer in fandom then, and I'm still a black queer in fandom now.
I took inspiration from a lot of sources initially: Danganronpa, Persona, Undertale, just to name a few. But when I realized I actually DIDNT have to play by the rules of those predecessors with what I could talk about and how I could represent my characters....oh it was over.
I'm a little confused on what is going on, I've only played through two "loops" (?) so far, but I think I might be figuring something out! I love Elise with all my heart. I found the scene where we get to see things from her POV while watching the sea outside. The little details that imply the different perspective were so fun to see: Elise sees colors while Nanno doesn't, the names are different... and it was just so pretty in general. I haven't seen much of the game yet so I might be misinterpreting, but I sense themes of abuse, memory issues caused by a bad mental state, and unfulfilling relationships to many different directions. Can't wait to play more! Oh and question: Does Nautical Nightmares take inspiration from Slay the Princess? I see several similarities with that VN, but I'm not sure if you've played that one
Elise’s part was one of my favorites to write! I’m so glad you enjoyed it!! You’re spot on with the themes!!
I actually have NOT played Slay the Princess, at least not before I had released it, though after watching my partner’s playthrough I can see some similarities!
