meet my darling, Chanjao ! Full name Jirattikarn Ongarun, a religious thai ghost-seeing medium (?)(none of the english words ive browsed fit the thai terms. localisation it is), who seems to be having just a tad too much on her plate at all times

all lore is also susceptible to change at all times, esp since a good chunk of her was just directly ripped off of me, so

as always, more yap under cut. about lore and the processes and such.

Jirattikarn (Ji-rut-ti-karn) or จิรัตติกาล means (translated by yours truly) beloved of the three realms (desire, form, and formless realm) but if you pick at the words more literally, it can kind of also mean eternal nightfall

Ongarun (Ong-ah-roon) or องค์อรุณ can refer to Surya, the Hindu sun deity but 'arun' specifically means dawn

In thai culture most if not all people have a nickname (at least literally every thai ive ever met has one) and so her nickname is Chaojao (Jun-jao) or จันทร์เจ้า which means moon though ive had some say it could mean moon child as well จันทร์ specifically, means moon

the thai nickname culture thing is really fascinating and, to my knowledge, is something unique to thailand so if you have any questions about it or is open to letting me yap about it to you feel free to say something

Most people call her by her nickname, Chaojao, though in the temples she frequents, she's mostly known as Ji or Jirat or just straight up Jirattikarn

The phi dip chin doesn’t originate in Thai mythology and isn’t fully apart of Thai culture as a whole, its more exclusive to Chinese and Thai Chinese cultures. This is the case here, just wanted to make sure that was clear👍
