hey y'all, can we please talk about wlw/queer women using the f slur? like i see a lot of women trying to reclaim because it's been used against them and i just. it doesn't sit right with me.
like just because you've been called it doesn't give you the right to say it? i know plenty of straight guys who have been called a faggot, and they don't use it because they aren't attracted to other men.
i also understand that language can change over the years, but it really hasn't in this case. i've seen a few different definitions, but they all boil down to "a gay man/person" the one i'm going to go with is from dictionary.com that says a gay person, especially a gay man.
so using this definition, the only people that should really use it are mlm, nblm, or nblnb. (edit: id like to change the phrasing here a bit because i know not every nblm/nb identifies as gay. instead id like to put "gay men and nb people who identify as gay)
also why do you want to use slurs in the first place?? they're literally slurs, they're not a good thing. i would much prefer to not "have" a slur anyway.
like i can see where you're coming from but in my eyes, it just reinforces the rhetoric that all men are disgusting and that loving men is a curse and that mlm/nblm need to get well soon.
seriously, yall can we just stop with this? i literally got called a faggot BY ANOTHER QUEER FRIEND in the co text that she was making jokes about me liking guys. she's been making these jokes a lot recently, and it fucking sucks because i'm just supposed to shut the fuck up and deal with it.
finally, if you're THAT eager to use a slur, d*ke is right there. the definition of that ive seen most is "a lesbian." but just like faggot, i'm assuming that would include all wlw (feel free to correct me if i'm wrong, but i don't believe i am.)
tl;dr: so yeah just please. if you're a wlw (nonbinary people can bonestly do whatever tf they want tbh) who tries to reclaim faggot, please don't. it's very offensive and disheartening to me and many others.
