I shouldn’t have looked at the Voyager schematics! (found here)

Looking at the schematics, the captain’s quarters are across the hall from two other large quarters, which logically would be assigned to first officer Chakotay and chief of security Tuvok since they are the 2nd and third in command.

Furthermore, the two quarters on either side of the captain’s quarters are separated by a thick wall.

I know it’s not really a cannon source, and even if it was I could ignore it, but now all those fics about Janeway and Chakotay hearing each other through their shared wall aren’t gonna hit the same. Yearning across the hallway isn’t quite the same either.

I’ll get over it, but I just wanted to share my disappointment with other people.
