When I tell you I spent the day just trying to find my max #'s, that's exactly what happened. This mas my last squat of the day at 551 pounds and I still felt like I was warming up. Another 50-70 pounds would have been a good challenge. But, we can only grow from where we know we are. ⚠️ WARNING: LONG POST ALERT! ⚠️ • • Squat: 374 ⚪️⚪️⚪️ Bench: 303 ⚪️⚪️⚪️ Deadlift: 501 ⚪️⚪️⚪️ All PR's, coming in of a total of 1178 lbs. • • First Powerlifting Competition in the books! I had a great time, even with 4 hours of sleep. My goal was to have fun and go for a perfect 9/9 in all my lifts. (I did it!) I intended to take it easy and play it safe but the competitive side of me said to PR in all 3 lifts 😂 Thank God for the super adrenaline rush I had, it literally made my lifts easier than expected. Please excuse my unnecessarily loud yell when I Deadlifted, it was the last lift of the daysl and I had to make sure I got those 3 white lights. I am so happy that I made a lot of new friends this past weekend and a special thanks to the people who helped me and gave me advice along the way. Special shout out to my last minute coaches/motivators @timdumancas11 (aka @timmylifts) and @eddybakadi. You will definitely see me in more meets to come! Another fitness goal accomplished... another piece of hardware to add to the collection. My first FULL (Squat, Bench, Deadlift) is complete. Went single-ply (using gear, squat & deadlift suit and bench shirt) Squat- 551, Bench- 501, Deadlift- 584 for the total of 1636. My minimum goal was a 1500 total my visionary goal was 2000 total. Most of my lifts felt like I was still warming up, since I've never maxed out on anything. I could have put another 30-50 pounds more on the squat and deadlift easily... but hey, we can only grow from where we are, therefore today's meet was dedicated to finding out where I am in the world of powerlifting. Not bad for the first one! My minimum goal now moves to 1700 total and visionary remains at 2000 total. Now time to figure out how to get a high strongman performance in while preparing to put up higher numbers and record breakers in powerlifting. Got to the 7th round before I failed then held 3 muscle ups for the rest of the time. Then did Redwood City's 4 X 400 in 6:03. Not my best mile time but that turn at the gate is brutal for forward momentum.
