Love the idea that Stratt saying “You don’t even have a dog” implies that if Grace did have a dog, they would’ve thought twice about sending him to space..
Thinking about the significance of Thomas being shot after being told he could save the world to show that he is still human, he’s still vulnerable and just a teenager.
It’s not his burden to bear.
Love how absolutely MAD Five was in the original pilot script. Like bro was going absolutely HAM with his powers at a young age, no wonder they had to nerf him for the show, he’d be unstoppable
Something I’ve just thought of: what if the griever sting is what made Thomas immune?
Realistically, he couldn’t have been immune before the maze since WCKD surely would have run tests on them, including blood tests. And Brenda is cured at the end of the Scorch Trials, meaning something between then and coming up into the maze is what made Thomas immune.
The griever sting is very similar to the flare, even visually when you compare Ben’s sting to Newt’s flare. However, not being given the serum means the infected doesn’t survive it / loses their sanity. This could be because they’re 1) not immune, or 2) the sting isn’t actually the flare but a simulation of the effects to map out how the immune’s systems react to it and what makes them immune.
Taking 2 into consideration, Thomas is stung but treated with the serum, meaning he experienced the symptoms of the flare before being quickly treated. My theory is this created a sort of vaccine effect in him, his body being shown how to attack the flare and thus producing its own method: the cure.
Can we talk about how Five was actually pretty open with his siblings at times?
He told Klaus about Delores the DAY after coming back, he told Viktor about the apocalypse the night he came back, he told Luther all about how he found their bodies in the apocalypse and his time at the commission?? And that’s all S1
In S2 he tells them that he saw them die again, and that he can’t stop thinking about it?!
But then they say he never tells them anything?? He tells them stuff, but they never ask him more about it, so he gives up on trying to open up
WHY CANT THEY BE FUNCTIONAL?!
Best thing about writing umbrella academy fics is that you can never mischaracterise anyone more than the writers did…
They’re OUR characters now, fuck you Steve Blackman
The one thing I absolutely LOVE about rewatching TUA so many times is noticing the little details.
Like, today for example, I was rewatching 03x02 when I noticed the vinyl that Lila was holding was the Prime 8’s, Diego and Viktor’s band in the comics.
AND the slushy cup that Stanley was holding before he got kugelbitzed- I can’t remember the episode- had the comic version of Diego on it
Like what happened to the shows little details, the hints towards the comics, the Easter eggs for the fans of the whole media, not just the tv show
Will always baffle me how the show deteriorated so much so quickly
