19/08/2017 1750 -- “Taconite (UBER_SHORT.VER)”

So Roland is having a contest at the moment involving their Boutiques where you record yourself doing a little 60 second session that has to involve one of them in any shape or form. You can pair them up with any other sort of gear there just has to be at least one Boutique in there. So I decided to pair my JX-03 with my TR-505 for something a little bit different than the normal house/techno stuffs I make.

Thus, I present my silly little entry where I make some minimal synthwave.

Also I did record a longer version of this too. That’s gonna be uploaded soon.

(and yes technically I don’t need to upload this here since Roland only counts uploads to Youtube, Facebook, Twitter, or Instagram. But screw it the thing can be here too)

21/01/2017 -- 1308 (Working Title: "Acidic_Vulpines")

It was gonna happen eventually, folks. I mean, I got both a Roland TB-3 and a TR-8 recently after all. I was bound to combine them together and do stuffs. Old school Acid House-ey stuffs, in this case. Especially since I’ve been listening to too many late-80′s Acid House-mixes on Youtube lately as inspiration. So I made some very simplistic stuff of my own. Yay for me!

Also I admittedly didn’t make use of the “Scatter” functions on both of the machines in this. Wanted it to sound as classic-ey as possible, so I avoided the Scatter and the built in effects this time around.

After a few weeks of being sick, I finally managed to get better and get around to recording this little song-idea I had banging around for a bit. So I drug out my Volca FM and Volca Bass and gave them a little bit of a late-Christmas get-together with the good ol’ black sheep of the Roland TR-family.

So come one! Come all! Take a gander at this bouncy upbeat something-or-other. I’m not good with genres, as I’ve said before...

That Roland MC-303 I bought? Weeelll, naturally I had to go ahead and mash the buttons and do some RTFM and whatnot and crank out something for your ears to feast on. So here it is! Some kinda acid-ish maybe tech house-ey possibly old school detroit-like stuff. Whatever the hell it is. Enjoy!

also I had to do a bit of noise reduction and shite in Audacity for this one since I was a dingus and accidentally left one of the channels on my mixer that didn’t have anything plugged into it turned all the way up. So there was an embarassing amount of hiss in the final recording. go me
