watched joshiraku ep9

noon, met with @8bmp (formerly @necorare who was formerly @8bmp and is now @8bmp again) at port authority, got pizza, then walked around. At some point outside one of the many "we buy/sell gold and jewelry" stores, a guy asked us if we wanted to sell gold and then for whatever reason he proceeded to reference gangnam style and we just walked away

went to nintendo world, looked at the Wii U but the only game on demo was rayman and I don't really care about that game

went to book-off

2pm went to karaoke duet 53 again but this time I was prepared and so I sang almost all the vocaloid songs on my list and everything was good, man that place is great. Also some people in a nearby room were singing the anohana ED and possibly other anisongs

6:30pm bmp got a call from @ephshi and apparently he was at the restaurant already so we left and took the subway down which took a surprisingly long amount of time

7:20pm?? arrived at new malaysia restaurant and met with @ephshi and @mr_sangkm and consumed food, then fc and bmp got bubble tea at chatime. There were many references to this being fc's last day in ny and the last time he does whatever things in ny

we took the subway up to port authority and waited for bmp's bus which arrived at about 8:50??, also I got fc to draw in the last page of my sketchbook (he drew in the first page a few months ago when I got the sketchbook from him)

then we went to a starbucks and wasted some time, fc drew some more things and steve also drew some things and I tried to draw some things

10pm went home, also fc is leaving ny tomorrow and will not be back until february; bye fc!!

watched @necorare livestream cave story+ and some shmup

drew some more. same as last time, a bunch of heads/faces but then at some point I realized I don't need to draw the head to draw the face if I just have the guiding rectangles I need (and then later I realized I don't need the rectangles, I just need a few points that if connected, make a rectangle). so now I pretty much just draw the eyes before I draw the head which a while ago seemed absurd to me but now I guess it's not so absurd. here's some things. still can't seem to get it to look right consistently. drawing is hard.

drew stuff for pretty much the whole day. focused mostly on faces again, here is one thing that I thought was kinda ok. also, looking at various artists and just drawing lines everywhere, I noticed this which helps a lot with "where the heck do I put the eyes".

drew some more faces, finding it somewhat difficult to get them to look consistent

watched sword art online ep7

spent most of the day drawing hands. I found this site to be pretty helpful in getting used to the structure and proportions, then realized that a lot of it (in my case) is just getting the thumb to look right and then figuring out where the other fingers are relative to it

watched @necorare stream some things like spelunky, punishment (1&2), vvvvvv (though I missed the end of it)

paintchat with @madotsuki @necorare and briefly @ephshi. It was on a different oekaki thing with a larger canvas. Here are some things I drew. 1 2 3

watched tari tari ep1, jinrui wa suitai shimashita ep1

played some binding of isaac, beat the cathedral again (this time I got polyphemus + quad shot + brimstone, then in another run I turned into Guppy with polyphemus), unlocked the polaroid. I kept getting polyphemus + quad shot actually, on several runs

watched @necorare stream various things including pixel art and spelunky

played more isaac, beat the actual final boss in a super overpowered run. The rest of the post is just more details about the items I got.

had polyphemus + quad shot + number one + d20 + habit + battery + health upgrades off the screen (red hearts and spirit hearts, probably at least 3x more spirit hearts than can be shown on the screen).

The d20 with the habit+battery allowed me to get tons of spirit hearts and gold chests (and regular chests on the last floor which are the same as golden chests), like going into secret rooms and rerolling all the coins, getting regular chests which result in more drops that can be rerolled. Since I had the habit+battery I was able to reroll way more often, I'd just keep going back to the same room to reroll until spirit hearts showed up.

Beat the final boss in the Chest and then felt like just going through the rest of the floor and clearing all the rooms. Took a lot of hits but still had health off the screen. Also in addition to number one, odd mushroom (small) dropped from a chest in the Chest but I didn't pick that up until after beating the boss because I thought it'd decrease my attack power. Not sure if it did, but being able to shoot quad-shot polyphemus at a normal rate was pretty cool

I wish I had recorded it or something, because that was p.crazy.

watched saki achiga-hen ep10, hyouka ep9

attempted to stream binding of isaac again, gave up

played binding of isaac oh god someone stop me from playing this game it's just so good

watched @necorare stream some things

played more isaac. Did some challenges. In the meatboy one, I ended up getting 3 cubes of meat and got 2 meatboys which I thought was pretty neat (though their AI is terrible and they just stand there a lot but still)
