All scheduled visitations with the prisoner were canceled for the next week. Walls and floors were sanitized, all traces of bloodshed and corpses from battle were gone and dealt with. After then entire prison was sanitized, the Warden then checked every inch of the prison. Not once, but three times, from top to bottom. From the outer walls, all the way to the inner most, enchanted workings. Pistons, levers, traps and red stone. All checked over and upgraded as necessary, until the Warden was satisfied with every test and check up.
It took about four days to finish the entire check up, not counting the entire day it took to clean the prison itself. But protocol was protocol. Because without it, there would be risks that the prisoner could escape, and the Warden refused to let that happen.
Only when the work was done, only then, did he allow himself to leave the prison and deal with the wounds he had gained. The enchantments to his armor prevented them from getting infected, as well as helped to stop the excess bleeding. Enchantments created by his own hands. However, they could only do so much.
He decided to go to his secret spot. It was a bit of a walk, winding through trees and over a few hills. Ensuring that if he was being trailed, they would loose sight of him quite easily.
The secret spot was a little tide pool by the ocean shore. Enclosed by a half circle of sand, allowing sea water to enter the little pool, but preventing the bigger waves from over powering the walls and the creatures that rested within. It was also modified that, even at high tide, the level of water in the pool would remain the same.
His trident was set close by, and his armor was slowly taken off, carefully placed along the banks of sand. Within reach, but not so in reach that they would be affected by the slow moving waves. The only armor that stayed on, at all times, were the gold bracers that protected his forearms. The metal enchanted to alert him, the moment anything went wrong within the prison.
An alert, he was hoping he wouldn’t get for at least a few hours. Beyond exhausted, as he stripped into his under clothing, and slowly sank into the tide pool. Resting against the sandy wall, sinking down, until the water came up to his neck. The salt water and sand was already working its magic for his wounds. Cleaning them, and slowly healing them up.
Finally, he could just relax and get some much needed rest. A deep inhale, followed by a long exhale of gunpowder vapors, that flowed out from his respirator. Gold irises gazing up, at the afternoon sun that filtered through the over head tree leaves. Listening, to the sounds of the ocean. Feeling the cool breeze against his face, the coolness of the water soaking into his skin. It wasn’t long before he closed his eyes and drifted off to sleep. Nestled, in the peacefulness of nature.
