I noticed in your recent post you said you don’t play the game, so can I ask how you got into genshin impact? I don’t play video games but you art is so amazing and I followed you because I love the different platonic dynamics you’ve captured with such cool looking characters, but now I want to know more about who they are!

Absolutely! I got into it cause I saw the pretty character designs and used the Genshin Impact Wikia to look up Character backstories and stuff like that. From there I watched Youtubers play the game and read tumblr posts and twitter posts to catch up on the lore! I'm still behind technically, but I've got a decent overview of the whole game. :D Awwww thank you for the kind words!! It makes me happy that you watched me without even knowing these clowns I spend so much time on. x'D

13. What’s the best writing advice you’ve ever come across?

THE TK TRICK. THEEEEEE TK TRICK. basically whenever there's something in your draft that you have to look up, or decide, but it's not integral to the plot and so it doesn't need to be solved before you can do anything else, just type TK where the thing goes - i.e. "they'd been driving for (oh no oh fuck how far away is that city- uhhh) TK hours". tk is extremely EXTREMELY rare in english words meaning that if you're writing in english, and you search your doc for 'TK' it will take you to every instance of this placeholder when you return to it. easy peasy way to go back to something and fix it later without breaking stride. i do this for smaller scenes i'm stuck on too. like [TK BRIDGE THIS] or [TK (brief outline)]

14. What’s the worst writing advice you’ve ever come across?

LMAO let's see uhhhhhh. any advice that insists there's only ever one way to do things? any advice that's an opinion asserted as a fact. let me see if i can think of any specifics tho. uhhhh. oh. 'said is dead.' leave said alone. said has its place. we NEED said.

15. If you could choose one of your fics to be filmed, which would you choose?

gd. man. that's so tough. that is SOOOOO tough. probably barn raising actually. it's the one i spent the most time visualizing which is interesting for me bc usually i don't......... visualize things. ever. when i write or read.

Very not cute, but I’m always a sucker for angst!!

Sizhui has a fear of water, drowning, etc. specifically in rivers. Gets uncontrollably seasick too, and gently refuses to go swimming or in any body of water bigger than a puddle.

Jin Ling teaches him the basics of how to swim, so Sizhui knows how in case he ever is in a position where he needs to know.

He also has nightmares about drowning pretty often. :(((

Zizhen’s biggest fear besides everyone he’s ever loved dying and leaving him alone is bugs.

As much as he loves nature, the creepy crawlies... not so much. He almost died when Jingyi’s unofficial, illegal pet spider got loose.

A part of him will never be the same.

Anyways, Zizhen is especially terrified of bees, wasps, and spiders.

So whenever he sees a bug, he screams and runs to whoever is closest and asks (read: demands) them to kill. I know this is a really stupid worst fear, but hey! Bugs can be scary!

The reason he’s scared of them is because this HUGE spider monster killed his mom. He was next, but thankfully the Ouyang disciples and his dad came to the rescue. He’s been terrified since.

Since Jin Ling probably has abandonment issues, he’s scared of losing the people in his life. Possibly of being left alone?

He’s told the others about it and they do little things to remind him that they’re there for him, like writing letters when they’re apart or holding hands when they’re not.

Jingyi has claustrophobia, he’s terrified of ghosts, and he’s scared of suffocating.

He doesn’t like being crammed into dark, small spaces, especially not alone. Ghosts aren’t that bad, he’s just really creeped out by them and will cling to Sizhui’s arm. Hard.

Sometimes if he has a nightmare he’ll go to whoever’s closest (usually Sizhui) and sit with them.

A bittersweet headcanon: Malcolm's favorite muffin flavor is blueberry because Jackie used to make them all the time. If Malcolm was spending the night at the Arroyo's house he would often wake up to the smell of freshly baked blueberry muffins. Even now, he loves them because they bring back good memories of the Arroyo household, but he has yet to find a baker who makes them quite as good as she did.

I LOVE IT!!! When Malcolm said he wasn’t hungry or that he felt too sick to eat, Jackie made the muffins and he always managed to eat at least one. They’re a big comfort food now but like you said it’s never as good as the real thing (bonus points if Jackie had her own recipe and Malcolm tried to make it only to realize he can’t bake #richpeopleproblems)

Oh boy, oh boy. I KNEW this was coming and yet. I am wholly unprepared. UM. i don't really have any fanfics for stuff we both know o.o (that you aren't already aware of lmaooo. as much fun as it would be to tell you your tog x ss au fic,,,,,i think you know it already. And I've already told you about the kanej and the shang chi one so.....)

OH I GUESS I am working on a space sweepers short thing!! Which I've been working on since uhhhh forever ago and still have yet to finish O.O (how embarrassing). I don't remember if I've told you yet, but it's called "Serenading Pilots" and yes......its about serenading pilots aka Pierre/Tae-ho. It's written from Pierre's pov and there's like a whole shift from him gushing about Captain Jang 24/7 to slowly noticing Tae-ho until one day he realizes he's stopped looking at Captain Jang completely, his eyes on Tae-ho all the time now. There's also like, how Pierre takes over as a babysitter for Kot-nim when the crew is out doing work (I imagine they prob got like,,,,offers or something from UTS and prob do some kinda contract work cuz obviously they wouldn't agree to work directly under UTS after all they've been through) and one day he goes to pick up Kot-nim and stumbles upon Tae-ho singing to Kot-him, and that's when things really start. Pierre makes it his job to drop by more often to give music tips and before they know it, they're writing songs to each other :)

1. a book that is close to your heart

Um, the entire Infernal Devices trilogy. Because. the lad. is in it. ;-; But also, very recently? May the best man win. That book is simply EXCELLENT. Jeremy is chaotic and just a plain mess and I love that? Can't relate to that white rich boy thing though

10. a book that got you through something

Um, I'm unsure? I don't think I have any specific book for that. Books have always been the things to get me through things. But,,,if I had to pick, I guess the most relatable one would be the Infernal Devices? Not because I relate to slaying demons and wielding swords but....I think up to this date, only Will Herondale and Tessa Gray have understood the exact way I love books and reading. It's rare to see that in books, I think. Because...it's a book. So characters tend to focus on others other than book-lovers. This quote especially, from Clockwork Prince: "We live and breathe words. It was books that kept me from taking my own life after I thought I could never love anyone, never be loved again. It was books that made me feel that perhaps I was not completely alone. They could be honest with me, and I with them."

37. your favourite heist book

Uh, I don't think I've read many heist books tbh? The first thing that comes to mind is Six of Crows and I honestly do not care about that heist there. I do love SoC for,,,ya know,,,the characters. So I would consider it my favorite one??

48. your favourite sci-fi novel

HMM. Mostly what I read is fantasy...but sci-fi...first thing in mind is Ender's Game!! That book is brilliant.
