Good Morning, and Happy Sunday to Everyone! Everyone loves Sundaze because it gives them the needed time to restore the mind and body. As restoration is happening on this day, it is a great time to reflect back on the previous week leading to today. As you reflect upon yourself in a week’s or month’s time-span, keep these questions in mind:
1. How were you Challenged this week/month?
Did you challenge yourself? What type of challenges did you give yourself? Are these challenges working towards your overall goal or goals? Challenges should be made daily and once accomplished, new challenges are to be made in order for us all to level up and accomplish our goals. Read a new book, style your hair differently, serve and give someone in need, or go to a dancing class. Challenges are a great not only because it makes your life more exciting or because it creates new hobby/habit opportunities, but because it also makes you more confident to take one more challenges and challenge yourself more. In order to be great, we must amount to greatness, and all great things come from accepting challenges.
2. Are you Reacting or Reflecting?
How exactly are your experiences and situations being handled daily? Are you shouting at the mailman because he is late for the third time this week or are you simply wondering what is the reason for him being consecutively late? Reacting is self defined- basically ‘re’ ‘acting’ towards something or someone without putting any thought into it. Although the Newton’s Third Law states that there is an equal, yet opposite reaction for every action, it does not mean that you are responsible for mindlessly reacting. ALL actions require thought and time. Grocery shopping, for example, is an action. Before going in the store, shoppers usually make a list of the things they need and also all of the stores that they need to stop by. With this planning, shoppers are going into the store that they want to get exactly what they want. On the other hand, shoppers who do not make these plans are usually walking around the store multiple times trying to figure out what they want and usually end up leaving the store with everything except what they needed or wanted to get out of the store. How many people can relate their actual lives to this situation?
3. Are you Planning your life?
When you wake up in the morning, do you plan your day out? Or do you just go with whatever flows upon you for that day? This brings us back to reacting and acting. ALL ACTIONS REQUIRE THOUGHT AND ACTION- just as planning! Your days should be planned out with the goals and challenges that are guiding you towards your future self. Whatever it is that you want to do in life should be planned out. As soon as you wake up, before checking any messages, emails, or phone calls that you have missed, stretch and begin to think about all of the things that you want to do. Once you have them in your head, write them down on a piece of paper that you can always come back to and prioritize them. The big goals should be either first or last and smaller goals that work towards that goal should be written as the daily plans. If you want to be a blogger for instance, your goals/plans should look similar to this example:
1.Create blogging account
2. Find Niche or subject to write about
3. Read and gain insight about niche.... etc
We all make big goals, but how many of us actually go after them?
4. Are you Executing your plans and goals?
It is one thing to plan goals and for this very reason, these steps are always separate. ANYONE can make a plan or a goal but to actually EXECUTE those goals and plans makes anyone, the one. The one who does to be exact. NIKE was not kidding when they decided to make their slogan “Just Do It!” It is the clearest message that any major brand could ever show anyone. Do not worry about the doubts, the past, the people that are downing you, or even the situations that are currently going on in your life. Do not wait for the “perfect time” to do something because things happen all the time and time keeps moving with or without you. Time waits on no one so no one should wait on time. JUST DO IT! Do what you want to do and keep doing it. Before you know it, you will be staring at your self in the mirror saying to yourself, “I am FINALLY here, where I want to be!”. Imagine that!
5. Do you know EXACTLY what you want?
What exactly is it that you want in life? Your occupation, income, family, home, spirituality, hobbies, habits, etc. If you want to make $59,990,384 in a year, SAY IT! You have to be 100% sure that you know EXACTLY what you want and you must be EXACT. If you are not exact, then your goals will not be exact either. This is a subject that should be stressed more than it usually is because many people go through life wondering why they have not gotten what they have been praying, asking, or meditating for when in actuality, they were praying about something so vague that never happened due to them not knowing exactly what they want. If you don’t know what you are asking for life, how can you expect anyone else to know or understand what you want? Be certain and be specific with any and everything that you want in life. Sometimes you literally have to ask yourself whose in control of your life and hopefully, the answer is yourself. Realize that you are the only person in control of your life. This means that you only want things that are serving you and your future. If it does not serve you, you do not want it.
These are only a few reflection questions, however these questions alone will help you determine what you can focus more on to change. As this day continues, remember to challenge yourself to have a better week, starting with today. Keep challenging yourself, remember that every action does not need a reaction. Every action REQUIRES thought and thought. Always plan out your days so that you know for sure what you MUST do and ALWAYS EXECUTE your plans, no matter what. The only person stopping you from executing these goals and plans is YOU! Lastly, know EXACTLY what you want! These steps are very important and should be reflected upon daily for better results.
