neilaaron drabble bc why not?
“You can’t just run away.”
Neil freezes, he didn’t think anyone was in the dorms. They were all in class. He knows, because he made sure to pick this day specifically.
Aaron is in Andrew, Kevin, and Neil’s dorm. He’s… why is Aaron there? He is supposed to be in some advanced biochemistry class. This isn’t even his dorm. Neil opens his mouth to send him back to his own dorm, the one he shares with Matt and Nicky, but Aaron beats him to it.
“He didn’t mean it, you know?” Now Neil really wants to run out the door. He glances at Aaron. An almost copy of Andrew. “We talked about it with Dobson. You scared him, that’s all.”
“You don’t like me,” Neil croaks.
“I don’t like most people. You’re not all that special. Sit down.”
He’s tempted to ignore the order, but Aaron’s been getting into more fights on the court than anyone else — winning them, too. Even when he has a few inches on Aaron, there is no way he’s going to win when the other man decides to punch him. So he sits. Neil hates to admit it, but if he doesn’t want Andrew to completely loathe him, it’s in his best interest to listen as well.
“Running away isn’t going to make it go away,” Aaron chides, shoving a steaming mug in Neil’s hands. “You need to talk to him. Not do something that will land him on the news.”
Neil bites his tongue. “He told me to leave.”
“Wrong. He yanked you off Kevin and said to take a nice, long walk around the States and to make it right. Drink the coffee.”
“That wasn’t what he said,” Neil grumbles, taking a sip.
“Whatever, it’s over now. You punched Kevin’s lights out, Andrew showed more emotion on his face than usual, and you think running is what Andrew wants you to do. Talk to him.”
“He wants me to leave,” Neil insists.
“Unless you plan on taking him with you, you’re not going anywhere.”
Neil frowns. Aaron says nothing else, going back to rummaging around the kitchen.
Aaron said he and Andrew talked about it in therapy. That might mean Andrew really doesn’t want Neil to leave. Maybe.
