I dont think there's ever been a movie that's haunted me as deeply as mullholand drive has, not just because I can really firmly see myself in diane but because of how deeply upsetting it is. like you are watching a woman trapped inside of her dreams and twisting her reality because the truth is too much to bare, and it reminds me of nell craine as diane was always going to die, and was haunting herself in a way. the movie has a strange feel to it like there is some sort of higher presence or "secret" god at play, something that knows what will happen to diane like the cowboy, and it hurts so so much. just like nell craine and laura palmer, even though their stories are so different. anyways tldr: I see myself so much in girls who end up haunting themselves in general and I get emotional about it
