Last night I had the incredible please to meet both, Susan Dennard and V.E. Schwab! It was incredible!

So a couple of times now my sister and I have hosted a Powerpoint Party and if your friend group is largely composed of autistic nerds I cannot recommend it enough. It's exactly what it sounds like; participants make a slideshow presentation on any given subject - anything at all - and take turns presenting them to one another while getting steadily more drunk (the drinking part is optional, that's just how we prefer to do it). It is incredible fun. Past presentations have included; options for renaming my sister, one person's entire history of the major friendships in their lives as represented by various characters, one person trying to convince the room his coworker should be the prime suspect in a cold case from the nineties (tbh I was convinced), the entire history of the rayman franchise, my personal ratings of various versions of the bride of frankenstein in tv and movies, a tier rating of monsters by fuckability (not mine), and a brief more personal version of the game Um Actually. The great thing is you can do this in person or via online chats. If you get the chance to do this sort of thing, go for it.

Like I’m pretty sure I’m emotionally ready to move on to whatever job is next, and yeah I def. want to be Out There Somewhere, doing something . . . bigger . . . than helping sell plants to people, but damn. I work at a garden center, I’m surrounded by plants all day, I get to tidy them up and take care of them and I love that, I’m not stuck at a desk except when I want to be, I get to talk plants with other people who are Into Plants, like, ALL DAY, and help people find the plants they want and help solve pest problems and it’s just. It’s pretty damn great. Even if the boss is a twit.
