I think you've already done Thaichia shedding or molting already, So how about Traid doing it, in a sort of this is my new exterior plating which after much data and material collecting is far superior then the older model.
âHuh... never would have expected her to be so interested in a scrap heap.â
âWhat?â
Ylva handed the long-sight goggles down to Shiro from her perch on a branch above. âSee for yourself. Sheâs been shuffling things around for almost ten cliks.â
Shiro put on the goggles and tweaked the settings. Sure enough, Triad was puttering about the ruins of the smelting factory theyâd just finished bombing, picking up bits with her tractor beam and discarding them in an apparent search for something. âWhat could she possibly- oh shit!â
âWhat?â
âShe just popped off half her casings!â
âWeird... unless... oh!â
ââOhâ? What do you mean âohâ?â Shiro asked, lifting up the goggles to look at the scruffy Galra in confusion.Â
âThis factory was supposed to be trying to replicate Orichian purasteel, right? Because it can take more hits than what we currently use, right?â
Shiro scrunched his nose in thought. âSo... she found some?â
âMustâve. Gimme those back.â
Shiro handed the goggles back up to his mission partner, and she poked her tongue out between her fangs as she readjusted the settings back to her configuration and put them on. âAha! I was right!â
âSo whatâs she doing?â
âReshaping the slabs to her own body.â
He couldnât help the look of disgust that crossed his face. âYouâre telling me our droid just molted?â
Beta love to @reinakonanofate. Sheâs the one that makes everyone able to read my stuff đđđ.
After the last one.. yâall deserved some love between the sisters.

âIf you touch that, you will die.â
Your hand stops, just an inch from its destination, frozen.
You turn back to Alex and gape.
And you frown.
âAlex!â you whine.
Because your dummy sister is wearing her âI gotchaâ smirk.
âSorry, Kar, sorry,â she chuckles. âYouâre just too easy sometimes.â
You pout. Youâd like to point out that if Eliza were around she would smack Alexâs head upside down for making Kara panic. But, you have been living with the Danvers for a year now, you have learnt that bringing up Eliza will make Alex shut down.
Even when itâs thanks to Eliza that you are here in the first place.
âYou are mean,â you chose to say instead, turning your nose up to her.
Alex sticks her tongue out to you. âCome, Alf,â she says with that little grin thatâs reserved just your you. âLetâs buy our tickets and then you can touch anything youâd like.â
You let Alex tug at your interwoven hands towards the Museumâs entrance. Eliza is busy all day with lectures down at Boston University and she gave Alex enough money to last you for a day of activities, even when the money came with a firm reminder that Alex is to take good care of you and to make sure you donât stand out that much.
You still donât get why Eliza insists on âremindingâ Alex to care for you. Alex cares for you a plenty already⊠she no longer hangs around with her friends, she doesnât go surfing as much as she used to, she feeds you breakfast every morning and makes sure to pack your lunch for school, she sits with you every night to do homework and sheâs always there to tuck you in at night.
Since Jeremiahâs death, it feels like all of Alexâs free time is spent making sure youâre well taken care of⊠and most of her not-so-free time too.
She always does everything in her power to teach you and care for you, so, when Elizaâs busy work landed the three of you in Boston for two weeks, Alex decided that the first stop you needed to make is the Museum of Science.
âItâll be fun. You can see how some things work here and it is child-friendly, so you wonât get bored,â Alex said the night before, once Eliza was asleep on one of the roomâs bed and you two were huddled together in the other, under the covers.
âIâm not a child anymore,â you protested.
Alex smiled. âYou are to me, little alien.â
So, thatâs how you find yourselves at the Museumâs entrance a minute after they open their doors.
âTwo full-price tickets, please,â Alex asks politely to the old man at the booth. âOh, and add the planetarium entrance cost too, please.â
He looks at you two and smiles with a little mischievous glint to his eye as he readies the tickets. âArenât you two supposed to be at school?â
You frown. Yeah, itâs Monday and itâs the middle of the semester, but why would he care?
âOh, no, sir,â Alex says, ever so politely, giving him the necessary money. You know she is annoyed, though, with how her hand is clenching yours. âMom has work and we had to tag along for the ride. Weâre not from around here.â
The old man nods. âWell, have fun you two,â he says handing the tickets and change to your sister. âThe planetariumâs shows are listed in there.â
âThank you, sir,â Alex says and with a little squeeze of your hand, youâre reminded you have to speak to him too.
âThank you, sir,â you parrot. âHave a lovely day.â
Social cues, just like this one, are still hard to follow. Back at home one didnât really speak with anyone if they were strangers and interactions like the one with the booth man were strictly business-like. No greetings, no goodbyes, no good manners as Alex puts it.
Itâs weird having to be nice to people you donât know.
âDo you want to hold onto this?â Alex asks you once you have passed the entrance point. She is offering the change the man gave her. âYou can buy us a drink later.â
You are not allowed to use money yet. Understanding how it works is still hard for you and you have come close to losing what Eliza called a fortune twice already. Alex said it was closer to a hundred, but you still donât get if a hundred is much or not. You are not used to carrying coins and bills around. Besides, only Alex has the patience to let you sort out the numbers and the exchange values in your head before you try paying for something âŠvendors at Midvale are too impatient and too baffled by your inability to use money that they refuse to sell you anything unless you have come with the exact amount of your purchase already counted.
But, Alex insists the more you use money the easier it will get. So, you put your palm up and receive the money. âYou will help, right?â You ask her, just to be sure.
Alex rolls her eyes and the familiar sight of it itâs so comforting. âWhat kind of question is that? Of course, Iâll help. I canât have you buying me Coke.â
You smile, wide, warmed by her teasing. âPepsi is nasty.â
âSays the girl that puts pineapple on her pizza.â
âSays the girl who puts Nutella on her bacon.â
âAh, you, innocent girl⊠weâll be spending at least two days here.â
âOh.â
XxXxX
The exhibits are amazing and you have so much fun interacting with everything that you could get close to. You liked the Hall of Human Life, but sadly you couldnât contribute any data to it.
You made Alex donate, though, so at least thatâs that.
Learning all about the transportation systems and machines humans have had over the years, was amazing. Alex drives, yes, and sheâs teaching you how to behind Elizaâs back, but a car is so complicated and so, so, so, frail⊠seeing all the ancestors of Alexâs beaten up truck made you have a better idea of how far humans have really come.
Similar to it, Mathematica helped you understand a little bit more of the rudimentary thought process humans have in order to explain science. One of the easier subjects for you to learn, but at the same time one of the more complex to wrap your head around, math is the one subject that Alex spends the most time teaching you. The exhibition was a nice way of re-learning some things Alex has shown you already and itâs always nice to
The Natural Mysteries exhibit was fun too. Playing with rocks, sand and dirt made you remember Krypton and, while it was really different, it made you feel at home for a little bit.
But, seeing Alex making a face at having to drink from your shared Coke, maybe feeling like home wasnât due to the sand and rocks, but due the girl sitting across you.
âWhat?â she asks. âDo I have something on my face?â
If she were any other person, you would be a little taken aback by her comment. You have come to learn that particular phrase is mocking and meant to make you feel bad. Itâs used by the kids at school to sneer at how you often get lost in thought and how, just as often, you end up staring at someone during one of your daydreams.
Like now.
But, this is Alex.
Alex who is your best friend, your sister. Who enjoys being with you and who loves teaching you.
Alex, who is your protector, and your rock.
Alex, who also always manages to stain her face with anything and everything âŠand, yep, she is sporting an ink line on her left cheek, probably made by the pen she used to submit her information at the Hall of Human Life.
Hence the question. She always asks you that specific question with honesty.
âA little bit of ink,â you say, pointing to your own cheek. âRight here.â
âDamn.â She rubs at her cheek and she only manages to get her skin red with the friction. âDid I take if off?â
She looks ridiculous. The long hours walking around and her engagement in every activity you have done, has made a mess of her ponytail and her cheek is as red as the sweater she is wearing. And she didnât manage to erase the ink.
âYeah, itâs gone.â
Alex sighs and takes another sip of the Coke. âUgh. Nasty.â
âYou donât have to drink it, you know?â
âAnd have you drink it all? No. Remember the last time you had that much sugar.â
You shiver. Yeah, you remember.
âCâmon, Alf. The planetarium show is gonna start soon.â
You nod, eager, and take her offered hand. Youâve been sitting and resting â in Alexâs case â for the last twenty minutes and you are getting a little bored.
âJust remember, we can leave at any time. Okay?â
You nod, this time solemn. Alex always reminds you that she wonât get mad if you decide to leave or stop doing something suddenly. You fidget with your glasses. âIâll be fine, Lexie. Donât worry.â
She scrunches up her nose. Uh, she has some ink there too. âDonât call me that.â
You smirk, letting your sister present your tickets. You wait until youâve entered the space to answer. âBut I love Lexie!â
âDonât, Kara.â
Youâre about to pout at her and make your eyes water and tease her some more when you discover whatâs a planetarium. ~Oh, RaoâŠ~
âAmazing, isnât it?â
âThis⊠ThisâŠâ
âCome, little alien. The show will start in five minutes. We need to find seats.â
You let her lead you around, but your eyes canât leave the images that are shown above you.
You feel your eyes water, but these are no fake tears. Not like the ones you were ready to pour for Alex a moment before.
âWe can leave whenever you want.â
âI-I knowâŠâ
XxXxX
Alexâs arms are around you as they have been for most of the last hour. The tears are still dripping down and you sniffle pathetically, your eyes still fixated to the images around you.
She doesnât talk, she doesnât try to move. She simply hugs you and combs your hair with her fingers, bearing all your weight on her chest.
In moments like this, you are so grateful sheâs taller than you, you can easily against her and she doesnât mind it one bit.
âAlex?â your voice is rough. Your throat hurts.
âYes, little alien?â
â⊠can we come back tomorrow?â
You feel her smile against your temple. âWe have two weeks, Kara⊠we can come back every day if you want. We can come back next summer too. And next winter⊠and every long weekend if you want.â
You take a deep breath and finally tear your eyes away from the stars and planets above you, and you fix them on Alex. On Alexâs honest smile and shiny eyes.
On the understanding reflected in them⊠on the care⊠on the love.
âI love you, Alex,â you whisper against her neck, closing your eyes. This is the first time youâve voiced this.
Alex tensed under you and youâre ready to pull away, to apologize. Itâs too soon, youâre still a stranger. Youâre still that brat that came into her life and turned it upside down.
But.
Her arms squeeze you tight, tighter than theyâve ever hugged you. âAnd I love you too, Kara. I love you too.â
Hey folks, Iâm late, I know. But hey, nobodyâs perfect, eh? This thingâs weird and itâs mainly written for my beloved @ohhellothereworld-blog (this story was her idea in the first place). I hope yâall enjoy it!
Flame Con
They still werenât quite sure how they had managed to convince Jâonn to give them all off. It might have been the argument that now that Supergirl had come out as bisexual, she was a queer icon and had to be there. It might have been the fact that this would be an important experience for Alex and her journey of embracing her own sexuality fully. It might have been the Danvers sistersâ puppy eyes and the feared Sawyer pout that made Jâonnâs resistance crumble into itself. In the end, he gave them all off and labelled it as a team-building-exercise for anyone stupid enough to question his decision. How wouldnât lend them the jet, though.
Lenaâs jet was awaiting them and judging by the silhouettes behind the aircraftâs windows, they were the last ones to arrive. And indeed, Kara, Lena, Winn, and James had already made themselves comfortable in the luxurious seats, their luggage stowed away in the back of the cabin. Alex brought their bags to the othersâ before flopping down on the seat next to Kara. Maggie curled up on a seat across the aisle.
Just as they had all fastened their seat belts, Lena returned from the cockpit and within minutes they were up in the air and heading towards New York City.
âIâm so excited!â Kara squealed as soon as they could take off their seat belts. A brilliant smile lit up her face and Alex could see her floating a fraction of an inch above her seat.
âItâs gonna be so amazing!â She frantically flailed her arms, causing Alex to burst into a throaty laughter at her adorableness. The rest of the group soon joined in, endeared by Karaâs childlike outburst.
âCosplaying is fun!â Kara remarked.
âSays the costumed hero,â Maggie shot back and rolled her eyes.
âKaraâs right, though,â Alex defended her little sister.
âNerds!â Maggie huffed, another eyeroll following.
âTakes one to know one, Sawyer.â
âWell, I agree with the Danvers sisters on this one.â
âSure you do, Winn. Too bad no one asked you.â
âI gotta admit, it does sound like itâs gonna be fun.â
âEt tu, James?â Maggie let out an overdramatic sigh. âSeems like weâre alone on this one, Luthor.â

Three hours later, the plane touched ground and rolled out on the landing strip. By then the group was mildly drunk and the cosplay discourse long forgotten. Chatting and laughing, they unloaded their luggage and stowed it away in the car awaiting them. Lena had rented them a spacious apartment near the hotel in which the convention took place. Alex ordered food for the group while the others unpacked and made themselves comfortable. The rest of the evening was spent eating and drinking before they went to bed. It was still early, but they unanimously agreed that they needed every minute of sleep they could get.
Nonetheless, morning dawned on them faster than any of them appreciated. Within the next hour they managed to create a perfect mess in the whole apartment, littering every available surface with clothing and make up and face paint and hair products and whatnot. The apartment came with two large bathrooms, but even they couldnât quite handle the hassle that ensued. Winn and James occupied the living room, covering the expensive carpet with fake fur as Winn helped James into his Chewbacca costume.
In the meantime, Kara had Lena perched on the rim of the bathtub and her laptop next to the sink â a hair tutorial playing on a loop â while she perfected Lenaâs Lexa hairdo. She expertly wove beads into the elaborate grid of hair slowly forming under her fingers. Lena silently endured the tugging and frizzing and the abuse of her hair roots. Internally she was mourning the less of her hairâs glossy and smooth texture.
The convention was only two blocks away, so instead of troubling their driver, the six of them decided to walk. Surprisingly few people turned around to gawk at the strange party consisting of Han Solo, Chewbacca, Wanheda, Commander Lexa, Captain America and Peggy Carter walking down the street, chatting vividly. They were by far not the weirdest thing this neighbourhood would see on this day.
The advantages of attending this with a Luther was the ability of skipping queues and shortly after arriving at the hotel, the group walked in, full VIP passes dangling around their necks. The flood of people in colourful cosplays and smart merchandise shirts was incredible and they awed and ohhed when the escalator took them upstairs and the convention floor opened before their eyes. Tables stood side by side, loaded with merchandise, books, graphic novels, works of artists, canvas and paper that were yet to be filled with expertise.
They were just around the corner of the fist aisle when a young boy â he might have been fifteen or even younger â came to an abrupt halt in front of James. His eyes widened in amazement at the big, fluffy Wookie in front of him.
âCan I⊠can I hug you, Chewbacca?â the boy stuttered, causing the group to smile warmly at him. James didnât answer, but let out a long, approving Wookie sound and opened his arms wide. In a heartbeat, the boyâs face was buried in Jamesâ fur. James ruffled the kidâs blue, pink and white died hair and let out another perfect Wookie sound. From there on James was almost always surrounded by the younger convention attendants who all wanted to get a hug from the big Wookie.
In the meantime, Kara and Alex had pulled out the schedules of their must-attend panels and events they had previously prepared. Lena peaked at their elaborate flow charts, shook her head, and went back to stand next to Maggie.
âThey are crazy,â she simply deadpanned, eyes still widened in amazement. âThey have planned everything. Down to the last minute.â
âTheyâre nerds, Lena. Thatâs how they roll,â Maggie laughed and sympathetically patted her shoulder. âAnd thatâs why we love âem.â
*
The whole day consisted of Kara and Alex dragging the Superfriends to every panel possible, before completely over-boarding on merchandise. Alex forced Maggie to sit for a portrait together with Lena and Kara and decided she would hang the resulting drawing in their living room. Maggie didnât even try to argue with her and she had to admit, that the comic-y style of the drawing did wonders to her legs and ass. Later, Lena got bullied into buying an Iron Man lamp, because Kara thought it was cool and Winn got one in the shape of the Millennium Falcon for James âoffice.
When they were finally back at the apartment, Lena threw herself dramatically on the couch, draping a hand over her eyes, smearing the black face paint even more. Maggie didnât even reach the couch, but came to lie on the fur stained carpet, face down and sprawled out over the whole thing. Jamesâs first thing to do was tossing his mask on the next surface and wiggling out of the suit. The tank top and the thin shorts he had worn underneath were soaked in sweat and he positioned himself directly in front of the running fan. Winn collapsed next to Maggie, bags of merchandise still in hand. Only Kara and Alex seemed to still have energy left. They were already chatting about the best time to show up to the afterparty.
Kara was the first to shower and comb out the dirt and paint in her hair. She was to attend the party as Supergirl and it took a long time to get her hair back to its normal glossy state. She was halfway through the process, when the shower door opened and Lena stepped inside. It took Alexâs loud banging on the door, to make them leave the shower forty minutes later. By then, the rest of the group had gotten rid of their cosplays and changed into geek chic par excellence. They said goodbye to Kara and headed out. Kara followed fifteen minutes later, relishing her very superhero-y entrance on stage. The nerdy queer kids around her went wild and Kara couldnât stop grinning. Alex stood amongst them, proud like every big sister would be, a single tear running down her cheek. The impression her little sister left on the community and the sheer joy in the audience was incredible, but nothing in comparison to the panel Kara held the following day.
The Ask Supergirl panelâs line up was huge and without their VIP passes, the Superfriends wouldnât have gotten any seats even though the organizers were constantly adding chairs. In the end, people were even sitting on the floor and standing along the walls. Everyone wanted a chance to chat with THE Supergirl.
âWhoâs your superhero?â a skinny girl with dark skin and a Princess Leia shirt asked.
âMy hero is my sister, Alex. Sheâs always there for me and has taught me all about earth customs that I know now.â Alex grinned as Karaâs eyes briefly met hers.
âIs there someone special in your life?â a pink-haired boy on crutches asked, making Kara blush a little.
âYes, there is and she is the most beautiful girl in the whole universe!â Lena silently whipped away a tear and Alex slung an arm around her shoulders.
âI donât really have a question,â an elderly lady rasped into the microphone. The whole room went completely quiet. âBut I want to thank you, Supergirl. Your coming out gave me the courage to finally come out to my children and grandchildren.â
Karaâs choked up response went under in the roaring applause and cheering that suddenly erupted all around the room.
After the panel and a change of clothing, Kara ran towards her sister, embracing her in a bone-crushing hug.
âYou did great, Kara,â Alex said, burying her face in Karaâs hair. âI am so, so proud of you.â
âThanks, Alex.â
âAlways, little sis. And now letâs go check out that Harry Potter panel!â
Kara squealed and linked their arms and together they sprinted towards the other side of the convention floor. Maggie and Lena just stood still, shaking their heads, whispering in unison, âNerds.â

What happens when the Danvers sisters get bored...
Okay @queercapwriting so.... I did a thing. And hey look, I even managed to write the Nerd Sisters prompt without angst.... I know it even surprised me ;)Â
Completely forget about Easter. Regardless, happy Easter everybody! Itâs storming where I live, so Iâm gonna take a hot shower, watch some Netflix, and eat some chocolate with my favorite person @nyanshadowforce
So I maybe felt bad about the absolute angst that is Day 2.... the one I havenât even finished writing... so I decided that day 3 should be nothing but fun fluff... And I think I might even pull it off... who knew writing something thatâs not angsty at all could be so much fun ;)Â
