The word “Netherborn” actually has three (or even four or five if you’re really semantic about it) separate meanings!
The most literal definition, often spelled “nether-born” or “Nether-born” refers to anyone born, hatched, spawned, created or otherwise beginning life in the Nether.
the second definition, usually spelled as “Netherborn” refers to a member of any species originating from the Nether (Blazeborn, Ghastborn, Piglin, Striderborn, some kinds of Fae, etc etc) Since the Nether is so different from the Overworld, many of the beings who could use other catch-all terms like “hybrid” prefer to highlight that part of their identity.
The third definition refers to someone who uses “Netherborn” as the primary label for their specific species. Some do this because don’t really have any other specific label for their origin, because they are a mix of many different Netherborn origins, because their specific label is lesser known, or for a multitude of other reasons.
