George Clanton / Nick Hexum - Crash Pad @georgeclanton @nickhexum #georgeclanton #nickhexum #311 #vaporwave #90s I have already gone on record as saying that I think that George Clanton is one of the most satisfying artists to come out of the vaporwave movement, and certainly one of the only ones that knew that the aesthetic alone would never take the place of amazing songwriting that people could relate to (it's why 100% Electronica is WALL TO WALL packed with earworms). Turns out, like many of us he's held a soft spot in his heart for all kinds of musicians from the 90s that, due to the snobbiest parts of the music scene, we've been made to believe should live only in the past where we remember them. Unlike those of us afraid to admit that WE LOVED 311 back in the day, he embraced it and made it part of his own image, wearing the classic alien head logo on clothes and talking about his love for the band boldly and proudly. The story goes that they had a chance to meet once and he threw out the idea of doing a collab and lo and behold, here we are...George, a contemporary artist who hasn't even reached his prime in terms of output getting to work with one of his musical idols on something that bridges music and styles from different decades and you know what? It's pretty fun, too. They've cut a few tracks together, and frankly I wouldn't be surprised if this becomes a longer running project...maybe like The Postal Service of this generation. #vinylrecords #vinylcollectionpost #vinyls #recordcollector #vinyladdict #vinyljunkie #onmyturntable #nowspinning #vinyligclub #vinyllovers #vinylclub #vinylcollective #vinylexams #vinyl #vinylporn #vinylcollector #recordcollection #music #cool #love https://www.instagram.com/p/B7V8eOUgGlW/?igshid=n0e3qfyasut1
