How’s everyone tonight?
I’m spending the evening writing an article I’ve been trying to write for almost a decade. I wanted to have it ready in time for the blog anniversary back in November, but I needed to spend more time on it. It’s such an unwieldy, ambitious game that nobody talks much about, and I want to do it right.
Best New Years ever. Tahlia was the last one standing at 8 this morning, both Michael and Rory threw up, Ben was munted as fuck, Brandon and I called it quits at like 3 and I have no idea what the fuck happened to the others. None of us were hospitalised and we drank a case of beer, a case of cider, a bottle of vodka and a bottle of red label, all on top of about $300 worth of MDMA Highlights of the evening: The constant group hugs The dnms Erick and his love for rice Ben obtaining the shirt I was wearing Quotes of the night: "Oi shotty not carrying Ben to the emergency room tho ay" - everyone "I fucking love you guys" - all of us "I'm fucking munted tho ay" - Ben "Bek? Difficulty sleeping
The baby slept well, until 2.30 on one go (5 h), but for some reason, I had trouble sleeping, I think I worried about him waking. After feeding, T slept restlessly and kept sucking his thumb. At around 6, I fed him a little and M rocked him to sleep so that we got another 2 hours of sleep. So all in all, an ok night minus the thumb.
Today, we're having friends over, which is nice.
I felt pretty crappy after work today, even after taking a walk during my lunch break. It just felt like I was weighed down and sluggish. No matter what I seemed to do, I couldn't shake it. Then my friend came over and we did Zumba then we went on a nice long practice drive (my friend is a wonderful teacher). Finally, when I came back home I decided to grab my music and go for a night run. Needless to say, I feel 100x better and now am settled down to enjoy some tea and read my latest obsession - Juliet by Anne Fortier. Sweet dreams!
