I saw this post yesterday and thought of Nightchase immediately I literally could not rest until I brought it into existence. It just needed to happen.
Fellas look at this I managed to redesign my sona and it doesn't suck! Is it perfect? Definitely not, but I actually don't hate it and that's such a huge step up
Chase what have you done to me. He's got me out here voluntarily drawing robots again when that's my own personal circle of hell. It's not even just that i'm bad at it, I actively do not enjoy it, I am having a very bad time. BUT! I simply MUST inflict this upon Chase. He WILL be kissed, and he will like it.

Okay I'll level with you, this is just a fully and blatantly self-indulgent "what if I was a cat and also Chase was in love with me" thing. I threw logic out the window in favor of my own happiness, and you will respect it. However I do have some basic lore, just don't think too hard about it because frankly neither have I
💜 Nightpurr was formerly a human, and a friend of Team Prime back in Jasper. After a would-be-fatal incident that left their original body beyond repair, they got turned into a robot... somehow. Listen man I just want to be a cat. Let me have this.
💜 They function somewhat like a Terran in Earthspark in the sense that they consume water instead of energon. They can also still taste human food, they just can't digest it. Fluids are fine though, let's get this cat some raspberry soda.
💜 They're not even remotely ready for all the crap the Jasper team goes through on a daily basis, so Optimus sends them to Griffin Rock. The Rescue Bots along with the Burns family are asked to shelter them, so they can get used to their new body in a safe place (or you know, as safe as Griffin Rock can get).
💜 Nightpurr appears to be generally positive about the change. Mostly it's because they know very well that it's irreversible, so they try to make the best of it. No point in being upset if there's nothing you can do. But of course it's not that easy to just accept being suddenly ripped away from your entire species and culture, out into a much bigger and entirely different body, and forced into hiding.
💜 The Burns family, and the Greenes, are the only humans they can still interact with. Nightpurr spends a lot of time online because it's the only place they can still be treated as a normal human. It also takes them a long time to accept being categorized as a bot – they may have a bot body, but they were born human, which means they still are. Eventually they do accept that their humanity is a thing of the past, but still prefer "cat" to "bot".
💜 Nightpurr eventually scans a scooter as an alt mode, but even then it takes them a very long time to get comfortable with transforming. It just feels too weird, and even more so when someone's trying to drive them. Cody does get a scooter though once they do. He deserves his "own" vehicle/bot like the rest of his family.
🩵 Now, Nightpurr and Chase are obviously very much in love with each other, as that's the whole reason I'm here. Nightpurr, just like me, meets him, and very quickly gets to a point of "oh shit i NEED him". Chase feels the same way. The downright overwhelming pull toward each other, with a big dose of "what have you DONE to me" is mutual. They are SO down bad for each other, and neither of them knows what's going on because they've never felt this strongly. This is what I'm HERE FOR my friends!
It does take a While for them to actually get together though, because Nightpurr is shy when it comes to these things, and Chase is the most oblivious creature to ever walk this earth AND Cybertron. Everyone else knows though, it is very obvious. Nightpurr laughs at all his jokes and thinks his very literal-minded behavior is so cute. I mean come on, have you ever heard anyone laugh at Chase's jokes? Chase is the only one who doesn't catch on (he just thinks Nightpurr gets his humor).
🩵 Getting closer to Chase helps Nightpurr a lot with accepting the changes to their self and life. Plus, him and the other rescue bots get it – they lost their entire planet and everyone they knew within the span of what felt like a short nap. At least Nightpurr's people and their planet are still there... they can just never interact with them again.
I made Nightpurr in tomodachi yesterday and I introduced them to Chase once, before immediately closing the game. Today I check on my miis and Nightpurr is bored, so I bring Chase over to bond with them, and they immediately initiate the befriending cutscene. Became friends after one conversation. Starting out strong.
Less than an hour later this happens

I can't even go up to Chase and be all "officer i've been a bad kitty ♡" because he'll just earnestly tell me he's very disappointed in me and then make me tell the Chief. I won't get sexy time i'll get community service. And i'll deserve it

It's so funny to remember that Nightpurr is cross-universe multishipped with Literally Everyone lmao. I'm obsessed with NightChase now, but Chase does not own them. Nobody does. Ultra Magnus and Aligned!Optimus in particular are absolutely going to have a more elaborate Nightpurr ship AU at some point, but even characters I'm not actually into are fun to play pretend with. Everyone gets a Nightpurr!
As I've mentioned in Smokescreen's post, Nightpurr is sent to Griffin Rock relatively early on in the canon timeline. By the time Ultra Magnus arrives on Earth, they're already gone. Which means they meet Chase first.
When they do meet, Ultra Magnus is apprehensive at first. Not only is this a stranger to him, it is a human stranger who somehow resembles his own kind, which is uncanny. And he's not too big on humans as a whole, to be honest.
But Nightpurr clocks his autism personality pretty much immediately and Yes Sir's their way into his spark. How could he mind them if they're so well-behaved. Nightpurr enjoys his company a lot; he's really easy to hang out with if you just treat him the way he prefers to be treated! He has a lot of really interesting stories about old Cybertron, as well as the war, which he's happy to tell once he likes them enough to want to spend downtime with them.
He definitely reminds them of an older/more experienced version of Chase in a lot of ways, which to Nightpurr is obviously a huge plus.
Chase looks up to him and instinctively defers to him the moment they meet. That is his superior, and he WILL be on his best behavior at all times. I feel like Ultra Magnus would love Chase; finally someone who respects him properly! Chase may not be very experienced in anything related to war, and therefore not a very efficient soldier (please do not put him on the battlefield), but his willingness to follow protocol to a T is such a breath of fresh air. After spending Primus knows how many eons trying to wrangle the Wreckers, if Ultra Magnus was capable of crying, he probably would be upon meeting Chase. The other rescue bots are teasing Chase for being essentially Ultra Magnus's teacher's pet.
I'm not sure if Chase would get jealous of Nightpurr clearly liking Ultra Magnus. There's a high chance that, in his mind, it'd be more "I think Ultra Magnus is great. Nightpurr also thinks Ultra Magnus is great. That's great!". He's just glad they're on the same page. He wouldn't have anything to worry about anyway; in fact, Ultra Magnus believes Nightpurr has made an excellent choice, and he can see why Chase likes them as well. These youngins are giving him hope for the future. He'd be very upset if he missed the wedding.
The first one I did was so ugly I always hated it. Chase deserves a version I actually out effort into. Also his shoulders aren't quite right bc the way they actually go would've hidden half his face so shhhh it's a shitpost nobody cares
