I cant believe The Lion Guard is the only show ive seen protray learning how to live with a disability/condition without immediately giving the character a solution. Every show ive seen if someone loses a limb they get a magical/super robotic prostectic at the most 3 eps from when they lost their limb. And 95% of the time u never see them without it. (The only exception ive seen is Yang from RWBY, but she still has the robot arm fix right after she adjusts to no arm. The show continues on her mental state after giving her the arm, but nothing else is done with her arm just her PTSD)

Ono loses a lot of his eye sight. What he can see is blurry. Ono is sad, Ono gets and feels replaced, Ono gets frustrated, Ono has to learn to accept help. This lasts the entirety of the final season. His friends are always trying to help, telling him hes still on the Guard, switching his position to Insight (which is created just for him), continously reminding him how smart and important he is, and physically protecting him. Ono is constantly frustrated about the last one, esspecially because he doesnt know whats happening till afterwards. He also has to let others be his eyes and guide him, which upsets him but he majorly relies on. And WHEN he does get cured, its not complete. He becomes nearsighted but what he can see is clear. He still has to rely on Anka to see far off and guide him. He soon fully steps into the role of Insight. He still uses help, not reluctantly at all, even during the series finalle.

Kion's whole situation confused me to be honest. But what surprised me is they didnt give him a magic cure like Ono, they put him in therapy. I honestly didnt register it till Rani said the word "therapy" (and ive gone thru both physical and mental/emotional therapy before). Through this Nirmana teaches him how to deal with his anger and his doubt. And when he completes therapy he puts himself in training to learn control.

Why can a show aimed at the youngest of little kids do this better than teenage or adult aimed shows? Idk but im glad someone did
