ilya may be the one to brag more about his husband during post game interview but in my heart of hearts shane is the one to brag about them in every interview outside of the game.
like after the game he only wants to talk about hockey and strategy, and yes rozanov scored a beautiful goal in the third period based on my assist, yes, and it is the teams effort yada yada yada.
but outside of hockey?
shane had spent too long watching his teammates saying their wife/girlfriend/family is their greatest support, the best thing ever happened in their life, and he FINALLY got to do the same thing. he DOES NOT give two fucks about the public reception. he fucking loves his husband and his husband gave him courage to take every big fucking step and his husband is his best friend and biggest motivation and is the kindest sweetest soul on the planet and yes he is also an asshole those two things are not mutually exclusive.
he doesnt think he talks too much about ilya either. to him ilya had been his entire life, his entire career at least, so of course everything comes back to ilya. it always had been, so in his mind he was referencing his husband a normal amount. and he tries not to go online anymore esp after the outing. so he doesnt know the internet crashes out every time shane hollander talks about his husband because like??? is it even possible to love a person that much???? is it even imaginable to have such fondness for a person??? hollander is down so fucking bad for rozanov it’s actually fucking insane and according to his stories rozanov is head over heels for hollander as well????
ilya watches those interviews religiously and he would never tell shane because then shane would get all flustered and embarrassed. but it’s so damn cute. shane loves him so much. he loves shane so much. his husband has a massive, embarrassing crush on him and ilya has never been happier
