👑 - Person who raised your OC and/or was important during their formative years
molly's parents were very very busy with wok growing up, so most of the time she was taken care of by her older brother, noah. a lotttt of her persistent attitude and positive outlook on things comes from seeing how, as he grew up, noah became more resigned and negative.
⚰️ - Someone they lost (not necessarily dead)
i've made a post about how molly has (in a way) lost her brother by leaving him behind to see the world. other than that, though, molly's mother died when she was 16. it wrecked her in a lot of ways, one of the most notable being that she doesn't believe her moms death was a workplace accident like her family has been told. there are only so many "workplace accidents" that a women's college librarian can run into.
💎 - Chosen family
i feel like a lot of the other members of albion garden (most notably desmond, cerridwen, and wisława) fit this for her. i don't think any of them would ever explicitly label themselves as being a family, but the sentiment is most definitely there. additionally, molly maaayyyyy or may not have a crush on her new friend asya 😋

asya's mother passed when she was 9, and her father when she was 12. she was very very very close with her parents, and after their deaths, she and tahsin lived with her uncle. he was very very important to asya but she also became increasingly aware that as well meaning and kind of a man as he was, her uncle wasn't cut out to take care of them both.
⚰️ - Someone they lost (not necessarily dead)
asya's best friend was a boy named alpaslan (his dæmon, zuhal, settled as a meerkat). they were neighbors prior to asya's parents passing, and still very nearby to one another after she moved in with her uncle. just about a year before asya left home with tahsin, when they were 17 years old, alpaslan and zuhal disappeared. her worry for him is tinged with a bit of hope, because her friend would often dream about running away, though asya never knew why. his homelife certainly wasn't troubled. his disappearance was a very hig factor into asya leaving with tahsin, hoping she could find him.
💎 - Chosen family
asya is definitely far more hesitant to consider the other members of albion garden her family than molly. aside from her brother and molly, she's closest with cerridwen, who she looks to as a very very dear mentor.
