How to Stop Putting Off Healthy Changes and Actually Start Today Ruthie (old me): “I’ll start working on being healthy after the holidays...after this vacation I have coming...after I’m done with this semester..” Being healthy never came along. Meanwhile, I ate like a 200lb man and packed on the lbs and felt numb inside. I thought being healthy was giving up all my favorite foods and working out like a mad woman. Meaning MORE STRESS. I was making being healthy this big thing that wasn’t sustainable in the long run. Finally, instead of waiting for the perfect time (news flash: it doesn’t exist) I started doing the opposite of what hadn’t been working for me and started small. Ruth (new me): “I am stressed out of work so when I get home I will get a 30 min walk. This will help alleviate my stress and get me in the creative flow and help me disconnect from the world.“ I started with small changes and then progressed. I realized that the more I put off being healthy, the more stressed and unhappy I was because it gave me anxiety. When I got rid of the all-or-nothing mindset when it came to being healthy, my life transformed. I started taking care of myself and health so I can run my business, so I can love my loved ones fully, so I can be present and happy at events, so I can have confidence in my abilities. You put off your health because you may think it requires stress, pain, and restriction but that’s not true. That’s what you have been taught. I am here to teach you the opposite and help you be healthy for the rest of your life and love it.
