when a bond like nomin’s can be felt through a screen? imagine the intensity around them in person.
i’m willing to bet that everywhere he goes jeno instinctively looks for jaemin. he might not even be conscious of it, but he’s always so aware of where nana is. jaemin’s constantly taking care of things in the background. his personality is one that only really comes out when he’s comfortable, although filling up a space is no problem he’d rather leave the spotlight to the moodmakers. and jeno knows this. he’ll pull jaemin up occasionally to offer a moment of the limelight but doesn’t force it. and he’s extremely good at telling how much space jaemin wishes to take up in different situations. not to mention how jeno suddenly becomes a punching bag when his friend is hyper - jaemin hits when he’s excited.
when jen is clingy jaemin gladly accepts him. small touches of affection and teasing show through his love language even when he’s being flirty and over the top. the affirmation of a hand on jeno’s shoulder, or resting with their arms pressed against each other. (which, when they’re together, is how they naturally stand/sit. it’s like a gravitational pull.) he loves to watch jeno eat - he smiles every time even when he’s in low energy mode. and with jaemin, jeno initiates SO MUCH PHYSICAL CONTACT. putting his arm around nana, rubbing his thigh, linking their arms, grabbing his hand, touching his ears and neck. jeno loves to touch jaemin’s neck. it’s a physical reliance i’ve rarely even seen off camera. (who would’ve thought the clingy one between the two of them was jeno?)
what i’ve gotten from watching them for 5 years is the awareness they have of each other. it’s adorably obvious - although there are subtler moments too. complimenting and reassuring the other is second nature now. and it shows how special their relationship is.
