PSA: If you see something you don't like in the fandom, block it and move on. Stay out of the tags if it bothers you. Practice healthy internet habits and don't get caught up trying to play martyr by lecturing other users. It'll only hurt you mentally because, whether you like it or not or aren't aware of it, no one is obligated to follow any kind of rules on the internet outside of site rules. This is something you should have learned before even touching the internet along with "never give out your personal and identifying information to anyone online."
I say this because a certain someone sent me an ask off of anon about my interest in Father and I don't feel comfortable posting it so here's my answer. They also happen to be under 18 and I don't condone bullying of any kind. No, if you message me, I am not going to give their username, so don't even try that.
Don't make me age gate this blog like I've done to my other blogs over misconceptions. I like writing for all ages, but I noticed in recent years that some younger bloggers rather entangle themselves in made up controversy over fantasy than to traverse the fandoms healthily. A lot of them want to cleanse fandoms to be what they want, no different than the adults who burn books and sanitize fairy tales to hide what reality is really like.
Someone liking Father doesn't make them a bad person or that they condone his actions. Let's get that out of the way. They know what he's about. He wouldn't be the show's villain otherwise. People who ship him with themselves or OCs are aware of this and are using him to satisfy fantasy ideas. They are engaging in what is called the "forbidden factor." It does not nor will it ever equate to them wanting someone like that in their real day-to-day lives. Let's not clutch pearls or act like Helen Lovejoys during the Satanic Panic here. You can adore villainous characters and still condemn their actions. Doesn't make you a hypocrite or anything. It shows you have a healthy grasp on what is fantasy and reality with the material you are consuming. Those who don't have that healthy grasp are the exception, not the rule.
Also, while I appreciate your concern for my well being with dating IRL, I'm AroAce, meaning I have no interest in relationships that are beyond platonic, regardless if I ship myself or an OC in fiction. That alone should get my point across. I also know what healthy relationships look like. I've written plenty of them over the years that my fandoms have lapped up. I want to write one for Moosk if I ever get the drive to do it.
